He just comes over as a hollowed out shell when he plays movie characters with no emotions, whether it's because his movies are over produced as so many are in Hollywood.

What's your opinion.

Rich Hall has a pretty astute observation of Cruise's film roles. :D

im happy for him. little people like stallone and cruise used to be exploited. cf. wizard of oz, and coal mines.

I have not seen his most recent movies to be honest and the Scientology thing is a worry although I know nothing much about it really. Maybe it is just harmless. I will say that Tom Cruise has made some great movies. He is a great actor.

Born on the Fourth of July
Magnolia
A Few Good Men
Vanilla Sky

A few of my personal favourites.

I liked him in Legend, before he had his teeth fixed.

I'm mad he's been cast as Jack Reacher, 'cause I read some of those Lee Childs books a bit back & enjoyed them, & Reacher's whole appearance, stature, demeaner & personality are so utterly NOT something Cruise can do plausibly. I won't watch that film as a result.

I dunno - in interviews he just seems 'unnatural' to me, and consequently, unlikeable.

He's made some good films, but he's not my idea of a good actor, because he's the same in all of them to me.

Are you talking to me?

Why, is that the film he managed to be someone different in? Good film, is it?

I trust it's OK with you if I don't rate him highly?

The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.

Excellent performance from Tom in my opinion. A role that was originally meant for All Pacino but Pacino was too old when the film finally got made.

Good Actor IMHO... ;)

The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you.. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that, they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!
