G'day Oioioi.
After all of the violence perpetuated against peaceful protesters, I am amazed that people haven't realised that defending themselves against such violence is ACTUALLY legal. This whole standing by chanting, "This is a peaceful protest", hasn't stopped fellow protesters from being beaten and unlawfully arrested.
Here's something I came across after the 'Don't taze me bro' incident ...
SUPREME COURT RULINGS:
"An illegal arrest is an assault & battery. The person so attempted to be restrained of his liberty has the same right to use force in defending himself as he would in repelling any other assault and battery"
State v Robinson 145 ME 77, 72 ATL 260
"Citizens may resist unlawful arrest to the point of taking an arresting officer's life if necessary."
Plummer v State 136 Ind 306
Defending yourself, or others, from being assaulted IS NOT unlawful .... IT IS a basic right.
No war will be won by chanting slogans. If people don't think that they are in a war they are unobservant. Look at the military style uniform that police in ALL countries are wearing. Look at the military style tactics that the police in ALL countries are using. The jackboot doesn't stop because of chanting.
It isn't loving to be a punching bag for someone else, no matter who they are. Submissively accepting such violence perpetrated against yourself, or others, is basically condoning it.
Why not arrest the police when they assault anyone ?
After all, there is such a thing as a citizens arrest.
Defending yours and others individual rights IS NOT what The Hierarchy Enslaving You (T.H.E.Y.) want you to do. T.H.E.Y. want you to be submissive, to 'roll over' without a fight.
While I agree with living in peace together, I realise that it will not be achieved by 'peaceful protesting'. When people are willing to defend themselves against the violence then I'll give them a hand in doing so. While ever they are willing to be 'punching bags' then I'll leave them to their beating.
