Living in a van isn't off grid, is it? I mean your risking loosing it every day if you ain't taxed or tested etc, have to pay for fuel etc.

What is deemed as off grid, no electricity, gas or shops??.

To be honest we don't have any at all, the last insurance we had was over five years ago poppet.

The only insurances we have today is our skills and intuition, but I once got knocked off my bicycle by a horse draw carriage on Morcambe sea front, that guy wasn't insured either.

I know a guy who once rode his horse the length of Britain and eventually settled nearby, now that was truly off grid.

Seriously, I want to know. I thought cameras looked at tax disks and number plates these days. The police are shit hot on this and the fines are a source of revenue aren't they?

Can't they impound your vehicle on the spot now for not having tax and insurance?

Have you managed to avoid all of that coates, and if so, how have you managed that. I live in a rural area and we have police park up at the roadside on the lookout for naughty people who might be speeding or dodging road tax etc.

You should have thought above your reply before posting it, or wording it, every avenue that went into making said van required electricity, the tires it wears out, the fuel pump that fills her with gas, to the spark that makes the engine function and the blower warm your feet.

Living off grid in a van is not without the grid you see.

When I was stationed in Colchester, a local tramp used to live on the outskirts of the town in an old army pill box, I had a look inside one day, very cosy indeed, stove, no telly and stained glass windows he rescued from an old church.

For not having insurance they can not only impound it, they can confiscate it full stop.

Even if you aren't driving it ffs!

At the end of the day, you don't own your vehicle in this country, even though you paid for it. You are just the 'registered keeper', as DVLA make quite clear.

It's an outrage DG They have too much poweres, and they didn't even buy the cars in the first place - feckers. :(

Btw, I found a about 5x 7.5 zopiclone in one of my hadbags . I'be been up since 6:00pm yesterday, so I've just had one, adnd I'm having one when I briefly resume awareness this eavening. This will hopefull but me back on the normal day time shift. :cool:

I might talk a bit of shit to you before bed time. :)
