Self-sufficiency is the state of not requiring any aid, support, or interaction, for survival; it is therefore a type of personal or collective autonomy. The term self-sufficiency is usually applied to varieties of sustainable living in which nothing is consumed outside of what is produced by the self-sufficient individuals. Examples of attempts at self-sufficiency include simple living, homesteading, off-the-grid, survivalism, DIY ethic and the back-to-the-land movement. Practices that enable or aid self-sufficiency include autonomous building, permaculture, sustainable agriculture, and renewable energy. The term is also applied to limited forms of self-sufficiency, for example growing one's own food or becoming economically independent of state subsidies. Will the face of the earth be scoured clean  :coffee:
No, but you're not getting the point. This isn't necessarily about a shtf event anyway. The way we get our drinking water today for example. Do you think that process, that infrastructure, is a sustainable way of doing it? Either post shtf or as a part of a conscious paradigm shift?
Cos I fucking don't :chuckle:

Edit. Btw my drinking water already comes from a bore hole 100 yards away. My surplus body fluids already go through a reed bed and off into the stream ;) Though I actually think composting them would be a better option. For larger families/communities there is also methane to be had :)

Oh im not getting the point... :conf: :D
OH well, the end of the day less competition is better :ar:

If you truly wish to ignore me, which I would welcome TBH, then may I suggest that you stop insulting and using my user name?

I am currently considering just how to respond to your aggression and consulting with people that my response might effect.

It would be best for all concerned, if we just stopped any communication.

I don't hide behind my username. That is quite absurd, since I have told everyone by PM my name. I finish every private message with it.

I don't think, however, you should take it upon yourself to reveal private information about members without consulting hem first. I am unaffected by your actions, but others may not feel that way.

As I said, I am considering how to react to your change in behaviour, Jane. Or is your real name angelchemuel?

If you want clean filtered water then its underground and the easiest way to get at it is in caves or potholes.
I certainly wouldn't be arsed using so called filters on standing pond water, again that just backs up the common sense mentioned previously and state of mind that I hate to admit but merc did get right but id expect him to.

Well you may notice I attempted to do so at least three times but Jane seems to want to pursue some other issue that I am somehow related too.

I am guilty, however, of responding to posts that seek to misrepresent me.

It seems that not only may one criticise elements of the survivalist movement, one must also remain silent while others insult and lie about oneself.

Anyway, :carryon:

I will respond appropriately in time :knit:
