What can you say? It's 'Facebook'. :dunno:

I did like the bit where it said that he felt "oppressed" though...you know, being in prison and all.

I love it. What balls on this guy.

How can anyone hate him? He escapes and leaves the key in his cell door so that it saves the authorities the trouble of having to replace the lock? Sounds like a gentleman to me.

The whole Facebook thing....well....fuck. What do you expect when you give someone in jail a computer?

An E-Greeting card? Not fucking likely.

Access to the internet from jail? WTF. That kind of defeats the purpose of even being in jail to begin with... What's next, someone tweeting about how they've been mistreated because one of their jacuzzi jets doesn't work? The west's prison systems are better than than free living in some countries, ridiculous.

Edit: I had to comment on this bit.
While serving time at HMP Dartmoor, Lee Fitchett wrote, with appalling grammar: 'won't 4get those 3 f*** heads who put me in prison 4 3y 6m but my day is coming and so is theres and they won't see it coming'.

If the guy is robbing houses, I think it's safe to assume that he's not exactly a Mensa inductee... just saying.
Form is merely a momentary manifestation of being, not a fixed reality.

History doesn't repeat itself, uninformed people repeat history.

To all progressive endeavors great or small, come unforeseen benefits on a scale larger than most give pause or contemplation of.

I'm willing to wager Greek prisons don't have wifi!

Otherwise I'd be molatoving unabashed!

He went through the possessions in a childs bedroom. If that's true and not a bit of daily mail seasoning, then what a total scumbag. And he's got the balls to threaten them

Good point re the seasoning, irre. We have to remember that invariably, this publication wants us to think a certain way about things.
Sometimes, they do just do...you know, journalism, though.

What are they aiming for with this little gem?

Further interwebz restrictions, perhaps?

They also state that he 'escaped' from an open prison. Oxymorons that they are. He absconded at worst.

Well the government has just announced legislation to snoop on every email and phone call, also ID's on social networking sites Ab. I've posted it in Todays News. It seems to go hand in hand with this story of a prisoner making threats on Facebook.

Hmmm, how's about something like "Aay, cockface, yeah, You! No more fucking internet for you shit-biscuit! Nooo, you're going back to your fucking cell and if you're lucky we might let you take a few books with ya, you fuck!!!" But I guess then he could sue the prison for abuse and then be awarded a lump-sum of money upon his release, which would be a guaranteed early one due to the abuse he suffered, ya know?

I remember when jails/prisons were bad places. Inmates were fed bread & water, worked 12 hours a day on chain-gangs and didn't think once, let alone twice about lipping-off to the screws! My, my, my how times have changed.

As far as I'm concerned give them all net access and a facebook account on bang-up.
Let the proper daft fucks tell you what they're planning next.
Saves a wad of cash trying to nail them after they've got out and done it and, in instances like this one, saves a burglary victim becoming a gbh victim.

Fair point. But would you be regularly updating FB with tales of what you were going to do to those who wronged you on the outside?

This story just feels less and less like a 'story' the more I think about it, tbh.
