The little warning light telling me I need to change my batteries has now been on for 10 days.

Clearly a conspiracy between battery manufacturers and Logitech.

I had a wireless mouse (Logitech) & it went through batteries at an incredible rate.

No need, get a connected mouse, far better. Laptop? USB mouse.

I'm using a logitech m505 wireless mouse at work and haven't changed the battery in over a year now

That logitech m505 mouse boasts a 2 year battery life sure, but it costs £30.

Try the cheapest logitech wireless mouse (about £6) and see how long the battery lasts. Its a matter of a couple of weeks, even with duracell

I think there's a little confusion, the batteries have stood the test, 21 months of pretty heavy use, my gripe is the suggestion I need to change them waaaaaaay before I actually do.

Mine didn't have a warning light. It would just suddenly fail after draining the battery in a ridiculously short period of time.

Fault with my mouse? Who knows...possibly it was, possibly its just a common trait with the cheaper ones.

Far less hassle just to use a wired mouse in my opinion.

Once I went enhanced keyboard many moons ago, there was no way I go back to statistical keying (as much as possible). I prefer the ease and speed of the angled keyboard.

My desktop PC has wireless mouse and keyboard, which i prefer, particularly the mouse.

They take AA batteries...i just use rechargeable ones, and keep another set charged up on the desk, as well as the charger, on the same desk. My digi camera also runs the same batteries so i got a bunch of em.

So i never have an issue regardless of how often they go flat. I just swap them out on the spot. I also tend to remove the batteries from the mouse when I am done, they last longer...heck i never even put the battery cover on the underside on the batteries kind of stay put on their own because of the way they fit tight with the spring loading, so i just kind of slap the mouse onto my open hand everytime i want the batteries out/swapped, and out they come

Yes, I have rechargeables, but you always have to recharge them every few days. Maybe I just have the cheap kind. I gave up went back to the one time use ones; the technology hasn't improved much since the '70's when my grandfather introduced me to them.

I think perhaps they drain away even when the mouse isnt used, i find they last longer when removed, when the mouse isnt being used.

13 days and counting.

And I have a wireless mouse keyboard so I can sit on the settee and use the TV as a monitor when I want to do any, erm...more laid back browsing.
