Yep now from the horses mouth on techrader even microsoft has said that pcs will be replaced by tablets and mobiles

They will have improve services and broadband speeds to make it worthwhile

What the chances of Microsoft buying out onlive and create their own cloud solution same with Sony with the other game company?

I think we will see home cloud networks with consoles totally going digital and stream over the net.

I bought a xbox360 yesterday and quite a lot of content is mainly streamed, but you have the option to download as well. So i guess everything will be streamed.

ive tried onlive and its pants , clouds in general are pants ,
slow speeds kill the idea and ive got 12mb bb and high end gaming pc
nobody i know thats serious about gaming goes near it for serious games
marketing and pc manufacturers might like the idea more than the public does , same happened when laptops took off and almost killed the desktop not because they were better just because they were smaller neater etc
and tablets are the same but to push them and stop people who want to game from ignoring them they devise cloud gaming

most gamers and im one use a 32 " monitor or two in sync what chance have you got playing on a touchpad watching a 10inch screen = not a snowballs chance in hell trackpad vs 34000dpi mouse = dead before you re spawn
cloud gaming is there because it can be and it might push tablets but trust me gamers arent interested right now .

Also sounds like with every thing you buy these days the designers are moving away from products that can be repaired by the purchaser or as i say upgraded.
A few years back people could repair their own cars,washing machines blah blah blah but now sealed units and throw away circuit boards are the norm
