See those blue borders on either side of this forum? When I visit most sites, those are filled with wanky ads that do nothing but really slow down my computer.

Easiest way... stop visiting sites that have ads all up and down every spare inch of it.

Other way... ad blocker, not sure which one is best... but get something that blocks the damn things from showing. You can also turn off java/flash and other things that most ads use to run (wont stop 'em all from showing, but does stop a few...but you, at least I, get a warning msg at the top of my browser that says something like "(insert name) is turned off, please turn back on" and it gets annoying).

If you are using Firefox, then Ad Block Plus is the way to go mate, it'll get rid of the vast majority of ads.

+1 for adblock+, it even gets rid of those pesky adverts on the channel 4 OD site. Invaluable for those late night Misfits sessions

I believe they even do versions for the unmentionable browsers.
