I miss the Amiga because it was a sort of halfway house where games became more professional and graphically impressive, but the industry wasn't as ridiculously commercialised as it is now, and just churns out 27 different FPS each week.

I think the game that stands up really well for me is Stunt Car Racer.

The guy who wrote that music died of cancer a few years ago:

I felt really old when I read that.

The best Amiga is the original, the 500. a 512k powerhouse :chuckle:
They brought out a memory expansion pack as well to take the machine up to a whopping 1 meg. That was a requirement for games such as Dungeon Master (that is in my top five games of all time btw, possibly my number 1).

The 500+ had compatibility issues with older software. I had one, and Dungeon Master wouldn't fucking work
The compatibility issues where a result of a Workbench uprgade. I didn't want an Amiga for Workbench, idiots!
I believe the A600, A1200 suffered from the same issues.

I swapped my A500+ for a Super Nintendo and never looked back. I'd love an old A500 though. Beautiful machine. The original and best.

There was nothing wrong with Workbench 1.3 Commodore, you bunch of arseholes!

What a great topic. This brings back memories. I used to have a mate who would sell the latest games, hacked with cheats, hours of fun.

Lemmings was pretty addictive.
