I have tried to get a driver but my laptop simply won't recognise the android, we have no land line here so will have to continue tap this little screen, we will manage.

I have 3 ways of connecting with the iphone, I can either make my iphone a wifi broadcast point for the 3g signal, I can connect to it via USB or I can connect to it via bluetooth...

Now all 3 are dead easy with an iphone but the android can be a bit of a pig, especially on a laptop I've never seen before :D

If I was with you there I'd have it sorted in 5 minutes flat...

It depends on the bluetooth software you have and the settings for pairing bluetooth are different on each phone...I can see from a quick google that there's not much info on the net about it either :(

There's some manuals alright but it'd be a pig to trawl through it all using a mobile phone!

We're going to have to meet up soon and I'll sort out everyones techy problems lol.

One solution, if you don't mind spending the coin, is a mobile hotspot 'MiFi' device.

What operating system are using on the laptop by the way, The Apprentice?

The laptops have windows 7 and XP, never heard of the MiFi device, how much are they?

I've had a Samsung Galaxy and had the same problem, ended up installing drivers and a bunch of crap to no avail, Kies wouldn't work either. When you plug your Android in and drag the notification bar down, doesn't it give you the option to mount the device? If I remember correctly before you can do this you have to make sure mass storage is selected on your droid and then when you plug your USB cable in it should prompt you "mount device"

After that your pc/laptop should pick it up. Uninstall Kies though or any other drivers, I found that it interfered with the process and it turned out I didn't need it at all, managed to mount my phone to any pc after that. Treated it like it would any flash disk, with a pop up and option to open the folder.
Pitty I lost that phone recently otherwise I coulda checked for you! Hope you have some luck!
`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked. Oh, you can't help that,'said the Cat:`we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."`How do you know I'm mad?'said Alice.`You must be,'said the Cat,`or you wouldn't have come here.'
