I think it is pretty easy for them to push most people around.
They did measures like this in Australia almost 10 years ago...well it wasnt with said computer systems, but they made it very difficult to get unemployment benefits without getting work or working for benefits.
Kim Beasley (Rhodes Scholar, former opposition leader and now Ambassador to United States/hanging out with Hilary) ...made some comments such as we need this (the dole) towards PM at the time John Howard (who was instrumental in implementing these social changes)
To which Howard later replied (in public) "You didnt know we could push them that far"
So two different ideas from the crown puppets on either side, but yes the howard governments little social experiment worked out, no need to pay people unemployment for nothing, Beasley was wrong and over estimated people.
Beasley, like some here, thought it was necessary to leave the dole the way it was , or there would be social unrest. Makes sense in a way, but it didnt really eventuate...hence Howards comments about pushing people in the direction the elite want them pushed working just fine.
One of three things typically happened to most who just didnt want to work that i knew/knew of, and had spent many years getting the dole....1) They went to jail after moving into illegal activity 2) Became self employed, or 3) complied with the system and ended up in work.
It also reduces the 'official' unemployement levels imho as a number people who are officially in the system leave it one way or another, even if they arent earning a lot of money (or any) ...or they move into black money, or drug dealing/crime.
Most people are easy to push around imo, and what they are doing in the UK recently, making it difficult to get benefits for 'nothing' so to speak, well its already been trialled in other places, like Australia.
