Hello tech guru types.

Long story short. Got computer, hard drive died, all music lost.

I have all my music on my ipod (not an ipod touch) and I have been told I can transfer from ipod to itunes.

Had a quick look on the web and there are apparently several ways of doing it. Problem is that when I read the comments left by folk they all say that the methods on offer don't work.

So, is it possible to do it?

I thought that all this synching business would overwrite the music on the ipod (shit loads) with what is on itunes (fuck all) and wipe the ipod clean.

If I try it and it does what I fear I will have to kill myself.

Having read the hassles people had with ipods and itunes I have steered well clear of both.

Hugo's iPod .......

Well since I got a Windows 8 laptop, I can now buy songs, but they won't sync onto the Ipod at all.

I prefer the Ipod (when not plagued with this kind of problem) because I love every single track on it, having selected them all for that reason. When I bought CD's and before that albums, I'd usually like a few of the tracks, and never play the rest.

Hugo, this is why you should apparently put them in/on a cloud. So I've heard. Not that I can be bothered finding out what that means properly, or how to do it.
