Sock puppets mikey...the tone of the place feels a bit iffy as well at the moment. Like there's tensions. I think everyone is kind of watching what they say in a way, almost like a pretence of niceness, but with growing animosity under the surface kind of thing.

I think we just need more members. It's too much of a closed circle at the moment IMO.

Is it me? Shall I go?

All a bit odd. Tiz currently a forum of about 150 members, maybe 30 of which are regular posters. Closed circle? Small circle maybe.

Looks like the karma's days are rightly numbered. Several people have fooled themselves into thinking it means something since the birth of SZ2. It's a tool of underhand digs to some too, something I have no respect for. Why people would play petty head games with others is frankly beyond me. It's not exactly big or clever.
The thank you button is frankly awesome on the other hand.

ok I think this might be the place and time to mention a few things...

Firstly, the karma issue. We are having a vote via e mail to decide the matter. Coming into your inboxes soon folks (fnarr fnarrr)...

Secondly, socks. As far as we are aware there isn't a problem, but we shall check it out. Please note, multiple accounts are not permitted under our T&C's.

Finally, we are looking at the possibility of introducing guest posting on SZ (on a trial basis to begin with). That should liven things up around here eh

Will the 'guests' ip's still be recorded?

If not, members could sock up as a guest just by logging out to stir shit up or have a snipe.

I think for a relatively new forum this place is doing amazing,and secondly I agree that multiple user names should not be allowed,unless in a particular special case, and explained by the individual why the need for multiple names,and also expressed to other forum members.

I have only one name on this forum and always have, as for name of poster,any issues with someone playing with my computer have been corrected, and forgotten, as to my way of thinking.

You've highlighted just one of the problems we are facing with this, members socking up. We will of course also get people from 'elsewhere' coming here as guests merely to cause trouble etc.

There will be a fair few problems we'll have to address, but the potential benefits for us could be worth it don't you think?

I'm not convinced there's a sock problem. I suspect some people are guarding their ID from previous forums but so what if they are behaving themselves?

As for allowing guests to post......on yer own heads be it!
