Apparently 130 million sterlings worth in diamonds are traded every single day in antwerp.....
If thats the case then its either the same 130 million sat there unsold each day or theres a shitload of money that shouldn't be available to purchase such an amount....not to mention an impossible amount of diamonds given whats mined!?

This was what I class as a fabulous piece of news and it's had me chuckling to myself the whole day

The perfect crime. Nobody was injured or hurt and a truley stupendous haul was stolen. The best part being, the whole thing was over in less than 8 minutes! Brilliant

Well, inside job basically.
They knew the plane and even the exact package/s and had the airport scouted out beforehand and police uniforms and even some pretty expensive gear.
Might even be an insurance scam.

Heard some diamond expert being interviewed about this on the radio yesterday. He was saying it's very easy for people in the know to remove any identifying markers put on the stones, particularly as they were uncut, and they'd split them down so that none of them was the exact same weight as that recorded of the stolen ones. He gave the impression that it would be pretty much impossible to trace, easy enough to sell for half their value on the private market.
