They should just uplift it all in the one bin and then let the unemployed sort it out when they're scrambling over the tip foraging for meals.

ffs it's getting stupid now. It's inevitable already with so many different bins that you'll forget at some point, or just not be about, and the waste will have to fester for another couple of weeks while you accumulate more on top of it.
Plus a lot of people don't have room for the bins we've got already never mind 3 more.
I'm all for recycling, I just don't like the way it's being implemented. It will probably mean a rise in council tax too, for a change.

I watched my 79yr old mum washing a yoghourt pot the other day, so she could safely put it in the correct re-cycle bin.

Think about that .......

Writing for the Daily Mail would be sooo easy.
Just spout the polar opposite of anything relating to care or compassion.

Living with what you wrote would be the hard bit.

A clue to reading the Daily Heil.
When you see the article is credited to "Daily Mail Reporter" that means that not even one of those soul dead hacks are prepared to have their name next to the shite in that article.
Now THAT is a low standards bar!

How come some of you only have 3 wheelies? We have 4 round here. It's a nuisance, and if you're not around to drag them out for collection, & so end up having to bag it & take it to the tip, the staff there sometimes get all officious and insist on rummaging through it to check you've separated the recyclable stuff from the rest.

we just have a big blue thing called a skip :)
recycling is to my mind just another economic tool/fallacy.

when i were a lad things were reused....

recycling is an 'industry'. a wasteful one. the energy involved in it is phenomenal. its the wrong direction to go.
we'd be better advised to address things like over packaging and to return to the ways of the good old milkman imho.

Yep: brown paper bags, canvas bags and shopping wheeled trollies.

Glass bottles replacing plastic ones you take back for the money.

Products served in paper and cheesecloths, No more sliced, prepacked or "wrapped individual" anything

Folks would adjust, the rubbish would be reduced and people would feel healthier too.

Sobering thought ...

UK = approx 66 million people.
Let's be really conservative and say that represented 22 million households
x 7 bins
That's 154 million plastic bins produced in order to 'cut down waste'.

Seems legit. :coffee:

It's like super-markets, innit?

These bastards want you to pick your shopping, then scan it and bag it yourself. Oh yeah, and it will be soon be law (now do you see who actually runs this country) to bring your own feckin bags anorl!

I barely have room in my flat for a naked man to lie fully outstretched on the floor...trust me on that one. That is why I do not recycle and as long as there is polluting, not-scanning-or-packing-my-own-bastarding-shopping-then-paying-you-for-the-privilege, rancid breath in my lungs, I shall continue not to do so.

Harumph.

I don't bag my own groceries any more.

But when I used to, I did it. A LOT. Sometimes, whole meals would fall in the bag without my even knowing it. That whiney, robotic, bitch would usually try and alert the FEDS, but they were usually far too busy to bother, what with there being a gazillian self-service tills and only one of them.

Not that I'm suggesting anyone else does this, ofc. :coffee:
