I thought you would enjoy viewing that thread, did you not also admire their unity and seeing them march in perfect step and formation dm? And there was me thinking that you were a collectivist? They make the IDF look like a bunch of boy scouts and a shambles wouldn't you agree? I know where my money would go if there was a fair fight. You're right though, sticks and stones and all that. It's just I find it rather boring after a while, all the childish personal attacks I mean, it doesn't offend me in the least, it just reminds me of a bad rash that won't go away, and when you itch it gets worse. Nothing personal against you btw, I rather enjoyed some of our little dog fights and disputes, excuse the pun. And I guess I should also give admin some credit here for not banning me and allowing me to post here.
Well personally watching people being mindlessly marched about is something I find mildly disturbing. It's indicative of the blind obedience to authority that makes people go and fight wars for some politician. My politics fall into the anarcho-syndicalist/anarchist communist camp, and I'm confused as to why you think I'd find such a thing appealing.
I think some people may be less than welcoming because they may have come here to get away from people like you. Indeed, in my personal opinion you are one of the more egregious specimens. Everything about you screams far right - and I've caught you checking yourself in the past when you realised you'd gone too far - but you pretend you're a cuddly rainbow liberal who just happens to think Hitler was awesome, Jews are wankers and the white race is in some kind of peril. The funny thing is, it shows that you know your politics are totally fucked up and/or you're a craven coward because you dance around your very obvious convictions.
Though I don't know why you'd assume you may have been banned. I don't see you've done anything to be banned for. On my part, it's kind of like being at a party when some nob walks in. You kind of roll your eyes and hope they won't be staying.
I would, however, be interested to hear about this apparent correlation between marching in formation and battlefield performance. I had previously been under the illusion that this was contingent on a multitude of factors such as morale, technology, logistics, terrain, intelligence, strategy and sheer luck. You can also put discipline in there, but that's a relatively fluid concept - ad hoc amateurs can be very disciplined if this is tied to high levels of determination, as can be seen with guerrilla forces who don't do much marching in formation.
I am therefore intrigued to discover the basis on which how impressive the North Korean army look when doing a marching display correlates directly to their predicted performance in actual conflict. In which case I would have to say I have no idea how they compare to the IDF as I have never viewed any footage of the IDF marching up and down the square.
It may be in your thread, I don't know. I only saw it yesterday after you turned up and I did a post search on the DIF to see if you'd been saying anything fun recently.
