Officially this year the summer soltice was yesterday (in the UK) the 20th of June not today 21st of June (as it has been for eions)

Does anybody know why the 'Officials' changed it?

Obviously people who follow nature religions will still celebrate it today, however officially it was yesterday this year???

"In the Gregorian calendar the June solstice dates vary. For example, it was on June 21 in 2011 and falls on June 20 at 11:08pm UTC in 2012. A June 22 solstice will not occur until June 22, 2203. The last time there was a June 22 solstice, was in 1971.

The varying dates of the solstice are mainly due to the calendar system – most western countries use the Gregorian calendar, which has 365 days in a year, or 366 days in a leap year. As for the tropical year, it is approximately 365.242199 days, but varies from year to year because of the influence of other planets. A tropical year is the length of time that the sun takes to return to the same position in the cycle of seasons, as seen from Earth. The exact orbital and daily rotational motion of the Earth, such as the “wobble” in the Earth's axis (precession), also contributes to the changing solstice dates."

Seems relevant somehow

Because the people making the calendar's are idiots? *shrugs shoulders* No idea why they had it listed for yesterday but anyone who is familiar with nature and the solstices will ignore the calendar.
I came into this world kicking and screaming while covered in someone elses blood

In summary: humans try and measure/dictate/control time, nature knows the time.

If you pick a suitable south facing window and on the back wall of that room place a lage sheet of white paper and hopefully the sun can cast a shadow using a fixed bar in the window on to it.
Each day mark a spot on the paper to follow the line of the shadow, you will see the suns height when its reached.

We did this a children for three years on the whole wall itself until it was painted again.

The Mayans also mapped the stars in a similar way whilst lying in pits in the ground using wooden sights.

Earth time is eventually what we will return too after everything else fails.

heres my question.. why not 13 lunar months @ 28 days each instead of 12 with 28, 30, 31 days?
my limbless friend will die alone
a torso of flesh upon the throne

Violence is not the answer, it is the question. the answer is yes.

Yep, this always made more sense to me. OK the seasons would slowly drift over the years, so what? Again that's just humans trying to control time...or hide something ;)... or both!
