Portugal will go under and get bailed out by the IMF shortly, then Spain will go, the EU will be in chaos. The IMF will approach the EU leaders and suggest 100% digital money with no fractional reserve system anymore, they will simply ask for no oversight whatsoever.

The EU will then actually pick up economically and rapidly rival even China and India, people will be well chuffed and happy despite the digital money.

There are many things happening that back this up. We are actually facing a time in which we come to a new economic paradigm. Jobs as we know them MUST change as the workforce is rapidly becoming obsolete.

Admittedly this technological advance means that the elite could well then consider us all "useless eaters". What happens at the point of rapid technological advance becomes incredibly hard to predict.

And was unpleasantly surprised to see this while i was in the UK this month. Seems like they are just fine tuning the biometric side of things to avoid the obvious problem of theft. Just imagine, some opportunistic hoodie bandit nicks your mobile phone and ends up using it to fly to monaco, business class. I know the youth of today are not that smart, but finding out that your phone has been used to pay for twenty pairs of nike air max and fifty stuffed crust pizzas would probably be equally upsetting.

I would expect initially plug in NFC adapters for the bottom of iphones etc.
The idea is a 'digital wallet' so to speak.

The banks will probably go in with mobile phone companies and offer free smart phones with bank accounts.

Screw a digital wallet and all plastic... stop putting all your money in banks (or start printing our own now so we have it when TSHTF and can pass out the new currency). Makes it a bit hard to pay bills or other things online, or shop online, but keeps the cash in our pockets at least.
