Sir James Michael "Jimmy" Goldsmith (26 February 1933 18 July 1997) was an Anglo-French financier.

In this interview, Sir Goldsmith discusses the ramifications of free-trade agreements that were about to take place in 1994 (GATT), as you can retrospectively see, he correctly predicted many of the things that happened after that.

A prediction or by design perhaps? I think the odds on him predicting without inside knowledge very unlikely. The shift in global economics is not fate it's stage managed by Corporate interests! The people in the UK never wanted vehicle manufacturing to stop for example, but the companies were run into the ground and stut down or merged then moved of shore. The people lost their jobs and so it goes on...

There are unconfirmed stories that Mr Goldsmith is actually Princess Dianas father.

Which would mean they are royals.

Anyway for some reason they always tell us what they are up to in advance.

A prediction of what the plan design would lead to. All this profits a small number of people, thus market numbers rise while unemployment rises as well. Didn't use to be that way. A strong market indicated a healthy work force, strong industrial sector, but no more. It's completely unbalanced now and only a few are actually benefiting.

This 'plan' started along time ago. Confessions of an Economic Hitman picks up this plan's story in the late 60's/early 70's when the author joined as an agent.

I recall in SBA (small business administration) the new, non tangible material based (gold) economy was discussed. It was to be a boon of boundless potential, and it turned out to be in the 90's. Yet as I listened to the explanation of the new style economy, I saw a picture in my mind: A ship floating on the sea, subject to the whims of ocean conditions. It had no anchor and very poor steering.

The boon was a bubble that popped. The ship is taking on water.

The economy is based on nothing but imagination and has been declining, in a very blatant manner, since the early 70's.

GATT and NAFTA are just two more nails hammered in the coffin along with the gold standard; a further manipulation afforded by the holes created when sound and stable economic disciplines were abandoned.

I remember an interview in the 90s sometime on the radio, in the car, some guy was talking about how the world economy is like a pendulum and it swings east to west, it was now heading east. i cant remember who he was.. just some dude i guess. but its no surprise. people saw this coming a mile off.
its all about profits. when chinese factory workers need more to live each day, and western workers are prepared to work cheaper, the pendulum goes the other way. thats big business. its slavery with makeup on.

But there could be some competition and differing ideas with these guys, and I did see somewhere that some media acquisitions attempted by Goldsmith above and Kerry Packer were blocked and so on by other billionaires so maybe some of these guys with a lot of cash...they didnt always agree.

Anyway James Goldsmith and Kerry Packer have both passed on now so that was another era now.
