Apart from the obvious shameless festival of poverty creation, what also bugs me is bullshit like this -
Last week, the Work and Pensions Secretary, Iain Duncan Smith, delivered a speech calling for a redefinition of child poverty to take addiction into account. He said handing out more in benefits to the poorest families would not address the issue of child poverty because too many parents would spend it on alcohol or drugs, and that parental addiction was the main factor in determining a child's life chances.
The speech was designed to defend huge cuts to the welfare bill and the Government's focus on back-to-work programmes that would help those with alcohol or drug addiction. Yet Labour said the speech ignored evidence welfare cuts were hitting working families hard.
What the fuck????
Use of crack and heroin in the UK population is
declining you fucking moron. And once you subtract the people who on a script and not buying any drugs
and the people who don't have kids you're a long fucking way off from this to have anything to do with 200,000 children in poverty. But what was at the root of the last heroin epidemic?- that's right - it was all those people chucked into poverty when Thatcher sold off half the country to private capital at bargain basement prices leaving entire communities full of unemployed people struggling to get by and with no prospects -

Honest to God - is this vacant fuck honestly surprised that poor people might turn to the pop or get on the gear because they've got fuck all else left to enjoy??? About the biggest cause of domestic strife is problems with money -
this causes a lot of stress.
I mean, they're all a shower of bastards, but IDS is frighteningly mental. The guy doesn't have a clue about
