A group of countries - ie. Portugal, Greece, Italy, Spain, etc - all need to default together at the same time. That's why the IMF are going around picking them off one-by-one so there's no solidarity. It doesn't make any difference what economic measures are put in place, the economies of this nations are not going to recover so they should just tell the banksters to fuck off collectively. The problem is that politicians always act in their own short-term interest, and possibly are even stupid enough not to know how screwed the Eurozone with. Not to mention the fact that they don't give a shit about the people, and of course Portugal has one of the highest ratio of political attendees of Bilderberg, up there with any nation in fact:
