I thought i would see if it's possible in theory to make a profit from gambling on football.

I do not advice anybody to start gambling or follow my advice (it's just a theory based activity).

I will be trying to predict three matches where at least two goals will be scored in each football match.

I will also attempt to pick three matches where less than four goals are scored.

The choices each time will vary when the statistics dictate.

I will be using statistics from a football website.

Tonight's choices are all from France and will based around the Two goals or more in an accumulator bet.

19:00 UK Nimes v Tours
19:00 UK Istres v Creteil
19:30 UK Paris Saint-Germain v Bordeaux

Each bet will be around evens which means i would double my money.

The stake will be £25.

Admittedly this could become quite tiresome quickly but i will see how it prevails.

Once again this is only theory based and should not be put in to practice,i don't recommend anybody gambles.

Pick leagues that you know more about otherwise you will almost certainly lose. How much do you know about Istres and Nimes? I know a lot about football, and I know nothing about them!

I do have an interest in various leagues WUB but yes i admit my second division french knowledge is very weak,it's more about statistics with me.

The matches finished-

Nimes 3 Tours 0
Istres 3 Creteil 2
Paris Saint-Germain 2 Bordeaux 0

That means i won the bet and the bank stands at £50 now.

Lots of teams tomorrow to choose from so possibly another accumulator posted then, early days.

French ligue two results

French ligue one results

15.00 UK Fulham v Southampton

That bet has failed already as the QPR v Burnley match has five goals and it hasn't finished yet.

Very unusual because QPR haven't had a match at home this season with over 3.5 goals and Burnley's stats were 7.7% of their away matches ended with over 3.5 goals being scored in their league games.

Back to original £25 stake.

Good luck!!

I made nearly £5k one year from matched betting & arbing. Unfortunately it took hours and hours, was incredibly tedious.

I didn't actually withdraw £5k, as on a few occasions I put my profits on 'dead certs'

So I've already proved my theory that I'm rubbish at betting :emb:

It's to much of a waste of time to be honest.

Broke even over the two bets.

There's absolutely no theory in football gambling, it's an absolute minefield.

If you are going to bet, bet against your own team. If they win, then you're chuffed and you've maybe lost a few quid. If they lose, then you're not so chuffed, but you're up a few quid
But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma,
a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

The only way I can think of is to keep betting on the same team winning.... when they lose you have to alter your stake for the next game dependent on the odds to make up for your losses.

I would always stick to the Premier League for this type of bet. Avoid the top teams particularly when they're playing also rans, and there aren't too many games that feature 4 or more goals. Teams like Stoke, Norwich, Hull and Palace, I would think they hardly ever score three in a game all season.
