I looooooove my tea! I have it with a dash of soya milk and a pinch of stevia powder. I drink around 3-5 cups a day.

There are some herbal teas I like. Nettle is good, ginger is nice and I like redbush (also known as rooibos).

Common garden breakfast tea of any brand. :) And Tulsi tea. Tulsi is an Indian bush that is said to be a goddess and every year there's a cermony when a man marries the Tulsi bush! Go figure. It's a general cleanser and tastes good. Google tulsi, irrie - there are some big claims for what it can do.

I like nettle tea when I make it myself - just a handful of bruised nettles (rinsed off first - think dog wee and insect eggs, popped into a pot, boiling water poured over and left to stand for a while. Better than the manufactured tea bags and free.

I rarely drink coffee - it's too heavy for me.

     And the occasional "hop tea" :spliff:

I feel the same way about coffee, dogs abuse, but each to their own.

A tea made from freshly-picked mint is especially good for you. A fresh coriander infusion, on a really hot day, will cool you.

Ooo, I love mint. I eat it straight from the garden. :)

Not "tea" as such... but did anyone else have to drink Cabbage Water throughout their childhood? the parents boiled a ham/gammon and then used the same water to do the cabbage and we had to have a mug of the resulting brew. Very green and salty :barfonu: Tasted horrible. But it was said to be very good for the skin - and we four girls never had a spot in our lives.

Can't say I've ever done cabbage water as such but my granda used to make the best cabbage soup ever! :spliff:

Actually, it's the only cabbage soup I've had...

It's supposed to be really, REALLY good for you.

Which puts me in mind of that strange, salty green goo I get from the machine at the swimming pool - "vegetable soup", they label it. Very green; very salty; very strange indeed ... and oddly compelling. :teef: I don't actually like it ... but I never choose anything else :umm:

It's funny how we go for (sometimes expensive) herbal teas, but overlook the brew from our common garden vegetables.

:)

I'll have to try Tulsi tea, I've just googled it and it sounds incredibly beneficial. Big claims indeed. Where can I buy it cantata?

I'm more of a coffee man myself (in between alcoholic beverages)...but a nice cup of tea does have its virtues.

It quenches your thirst for a start, whereas coffee doesn't for some reason.

Two tea bags in the cup it has to be for me...let it stew for a bit too. Then milk & sugar

Coffee seems to actually make me thirsty. Tea is lighter, more refreshing. Plus coffee doesn't really go with anything. Tea goes with loads of stuff, tea and toast, tea and biscuits...in fact they had to come up with a biscuit specifically for coffee, Morning Coffee :D
The SAS, they drink tea as well. The Chinese said the Great Wall couldn't have been built without the consumption of tea.
I love tea! :chuckle:

Two tea bags!? :O Is it weak tea? If I used two Yorkshire bags I'd be able to stand the teaspoon in it :chuckle:

:chuckle: nah PG Tips or similar. I must just like strong tea.

That Tetley extra strong blend andy mentioned earlier is good stuff, must remember to get that in next time ;)

As for the coffee...well I'm addicted to it basically. I love the taste of good coffee, but its also about the caffeine. I need a cup of coffee in the morning to get me going :D

I love herbal tea!! And I have that very same Nettle tea that you have Irrep!! I haven't opened it yet though because I have older Nettle leaf material that I bought in bulk that I haven't used up yet so I'm waiting until that stuff either goes bad or gets used up. Nettle is good for a LOT of stuff!! It's a blood cleanser and system flush and is very nutritious! I don't drink Nettle tea as much as I drink Chamomile though, it's my favorite!! Along with Catnip. And every once in a while I love Passion Flower tea, very calming and really helps me to sleep soundly the whole night through.

Other herbs that make a great and healthy tea are dandelion leaf, alfalfa leaf, sage and lemon balm. I'll be adding more info and links to my herb thread soon so you can check it out and get your learn on!!

I'll have to try the Tetley extra strong myself. My mum's obsessed with Yorkshire tea, or Twinings everyday tea. I'm sick of them :hedbut:

As for coffee, I only need one cup and that turns into three or four. Once I've cracked the jar open, I have to finish it off :coffee:
