Ive got no experience what so ever on reiki so im coming from my own subjective opinions .

I went to a talk a few years ago well about 10 yrs.

The reiki guy gave a talk and did his sales pitch for the reiki level he was selling. He also spoke about if we had 1000 reiki masters they could heal whole countries ,when someone asked him why dont you get 1000 reiki masters to go round healing each country he said this would be a massive operation and would require thousands in funding :umm:

Could 1000 reiki masters really heal a whole country?

If your a reiki master how has it influenced your life what are the changes you have noticed since becoming attuned?

How would you discribe reiki ? would you say its the same as chi energy?

Theres a few reiki masters now giving free attunenments on line is it really possible to become attune on line ?

if there is a 'sales pitch' it probs not the real deal.

I think oioioi is in this field , and perhaps Gilly and Jane

Sounds like you were just speaking to a numpty trying to make money

'Chi' means the same as the 'ki' in Reiki, nirvana. It means life-force energy.

It's up to the individual to decide what they want to do with their Reiki - i.e, focus on individuals / countries etc, but it's something I've tried to encourage people to do simultaneously for a common cause on forums - though not exclusively Reiki - whatever people trust, be it faith healing, meditative visualisation, other forms of healing, prayer etc as well, because I think (instinctively really) that the result would be greater than the sum of its parts.

A few of us did it a few years back on you know where. Out of all the members there, there were only a handful of us took part, but the results were great. It was when there were bush fires blazing in Australia, and the media over there were panicking like hell, announcing that they couldn't see an end to it.

So, after a while, it rained sufficiently to get the fires under control.

Nobody can know that it wouldn't simply have rained anyway - though, again, the media were apparently acting a bit shocked, because it came so unexpectedly. Perhaps the focus of intention caused it, or helped. I know from reading about it afterwards, that there were little groups of people all over the world who were doing the same thing we were.

My own opinion is that this is the kind of thing that those at the top are afraid of. They're scared that people will realise their own power to influence things. The other side of the coin is that it was typical that out of the thousands of people on that forum, there were only a very small number of us who gave it a go. I think most people are either just basically disbelieving, or afraid of ridicule, so they won't ever explore the possibilities for themselves.

And it doesn't help that there are people in all walks of life who are out to make a fast buck. Some of these healers are charlatans, and some may have good skills, but are basically just there to rake cash into their coffers. That doesn't apply to everybody, but, often, the genuine people will automatically get tarred with the same brush.

It generally costs money to get the Reiki atunements, but in all honesty, I don't think you need them to be able to do it.

There's a story about a person who meditated for a long time, and eventually, the Reiki symbols just appeared to him out of the ether (I can't be bothered going into more detail). The idea is that he then attuned others (by imprinting the symbols into their energy fields) and on achieving the Reiki Master level (3rd degree) these others were qualified, in turn, to perform attunements for other people - so every attunement that takes place is supposed to link directly back to that 1st practitioner.

The story is, that he was dumbfounded and disillusioned, on learning that people he'd healed, often continued their lives as beggars etc, because that was what they knew. That's supposedly why he started charging money for the healings, because people only seemed to appreciate the value of it, if it actually cost them money. And that's why people are supposed to charge you for the service.

Personally, I would feel very uncomfortable charging money, so I've never done it. That's not to say I condemn anyone who's genuine and makes a living out of it.

There is scientific evidence around (may try & seek it out tomorrow, but am too tired now) in the form of photography, similar in nature to Karillian (can't even be bothered looking up right spelling) photography, which demonstrates that when anyone who's reasonably healthy, places themselves in close proximity to someone who's sick, their vibrational energy can have the effect of influencing the poorly person's vibrational energy positively. I don't think it's 'magic', but some kind of science that the authorities would not wish to be known to their paying pharmeceutical customers.

I think when we go beyond our little ego's there is something that unites us all some kind of life force even Einstine mentioned the field that connects everyone. Paul mckenna did a experiment a few years ago with the national lottery and told the audience and viewers on tv to concentrate on these numbers and imagine them coming out . Anyway 4 out of 6 numbers came out the following week and camelot complained and tried to ban this experiment from taking place again.

Definantly makes you think if we all focused on something what we could collectivley achieve.

Surprised these experiments are not more common place.

^ It surprises me too. I've seen that the majority of people would rather spend 20 minutes on a forum (elsewhere) arguing that it's BS, than 20 minutes just giving something a go, even though they've got nothing to lose. :dunno:

Is it possibly a mindset, if you believe in something enough, then it manifests and becomes real, like unicorns (seriously).

Everything comes from us, and I strongly believe in Chi, I have rolled it in my hands...and it is wonderful... :)

I think so. But I'm not sure. I've treated people with Reiki who are very sceptical at the outset, but change their minds while it's in progress.

I have watched healing with interest, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

A lot depends upon the recipient, are they open enough to recieve the love/energy/chi being sent to them?

Yep, that's why you're not supposed to do it for anybody without their permission. Some people don't want to be healed, even though they might not realise it on a conscious level.

It might be because they enjoy the attention an ailment brings, or because they'd rather be able to say, "See, I was right - I told you it was a load of BS", or deep down, they carry guilt which makes them think they deserve to be unwell.

Well that sounds to me like the type of input introduced into religions by people, rather than any God, for control purposes. But then, that's just my opinion (and I'm not a Christian - plus have practised some white witchcraft :P ). Reiki's reputed to be incorruptible, and impossible to use for harmful purposes, so to my mind, it can't be a bad thing.

OK, now I am going to stick in my pennys worth...
Christians thinking it's witchcraft...ain't that a bit blasphemous considering all the healing Jesus did?....just taking that one on face value.

The story Gilly told above^^^^ is about Dr Usui ....a theology prof who when asked by his students if Christ was human and had the ability to heal people then why can't we?...So he buggered off up a mountain aka Native American style and did all that shamanic death stuff....after having been up his mountain for 40 days and 40 nights....no food etc...he got his symbols, came down the mountain and wolffed down a double makkies and chips..LARGE!

I am far from being disingenuous in my description...just trying to lighten the mood.

As Dawney said, I am fortunate to be a 5th lineage Reiki 'therapist', have been for past 18 years. Like ahoy oi, I am intrinsically a Clinical Aromatherapist/Reflexologist and you get Reiki whether you know it or not if you are a client. Dubs can attest that when he had his leg accident I offered him absent reiki....go ask him what he thinks. Because as is the case with all things 'esoteric' whether it be healing or believing in UFO's and fairies and angels...as humans we have to experience to believe.

It could have been a plot with the lottery company to make certain numbers come out. There is so much corruption around these days, it seems nearly everyone is a liar and a thief. I don't believe power of the mind can make things like this happen....

I'm a Christian and I have no problems with the practice of Reiki in itself - all healing is good, and the gift of healing is one if the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I have undergone quite a few Reiki sessions in the past, along with reflexology - although the treatments felt nice, I can't say that any profound healing occured. If, however, sick people find themselves improved from these treatments then all power to them! What I don't like is the thought of sick people being milked financially by charlatans who promise them the Earth. If I genuinely had the gift of healing by touch, there's no way I'd be charging anyone for it...

Gilly stated above that you can rekei over a long distance, like ie the Victorian Bush Fires ...so that oviously means you could do it for
People over the same distance,Just curious thats all,

Oh and by the way what i stated above in my earlier posts is not my opinion

Yes christ is said to have fed 5,000 people fish and loaf. Can remember listening to a theology professor years ago talking about the fish and loafs and he said its very true but if we break down these words in to ancient language then fish and loafs was a form of sea weed etc that they made soup from. So not really a few fish and a loaf of bread.

Yep - 1st degree Reiki is the symbols for the hands on stuff, and 2nd degree provides the symbols for distant healing (and is said to fortify your healing ability). 3rd degree - which I never bothered taking - is supposed to equip you to attune other people.

I think people have different levels of ability naturally, and plus, the more you do it, the stronger it becomes, like flexing over time increases the strength of muscles. So, unfortunately, there's variation, in that one Reiki healer could just make you feel pleasantly relaxed, while another might do the same things, but make you feel amazing, and your ailment may be gone or substantially alleviated. For that reason, it's best if you can get recommendations before using a practitioner.

BC, SOL will remember the bush fires thing, if you still speak with him.
