I wake up with a headache every morning. I've got a mild headache now. I've got no idea why. I've tried absolutely everything to stop this from occurring, but nothing seems to make any difference. Does anyone have any ideas?

Could you possibly have a chronic sinus infection caused by a bad tooth, and do one of your nostrils always seem blocked where you breath out of one or the other most of the time?

Could give you headaches, fever, weakness and night sweats also.

Good suggestion, but I drink lots of water.Rick wrote:

This seems a lot more possible. I'm a bit confused now, though, because some websites suggest I should feel some tooth pain, which I don't, and others suggest that one might not feel any tooth pain. So I'm not sure what to make of that.

It has also occurred to me that I spend far too many hours staring into a laptop screen, but I sort of need to do this to make money.

There are so many possibilities WUB.

It could be you need reading glasses for using at the computer, or you need more ventilation in your bedroom. :dunno:

I know, this is the problem with the human anatomy. I don't need reading glasses as I have exceptional eyesight. I'm sure I will one day. Bedroom ventilation seems a good suggestion, I'll give that one a go.

I know, mate, this is the problem. This is why I wouldn't bother going to a doctor. It's more towards the temples, it's not really intense, it's just a persistent thing, but it's worse when I first wake up. I've tried cutting stuff out of my diet, it makes no difference. I might try cutting out wheat and see if that does anything. I seem to be allergic to basically everything which doesn't help. Dust, dust mites, pollen, dairy products, cats, etc.

it could even be blood pressure. if you wake up with it and youre lying down then perhaps it has something to do with that. prop yourself up so you're not lying flat or sleep in a reclining chair or something. its all shots in the dark

What I'll do is try all these suggestions one-by-one and see if they make any difference. I've had them for years. I used to think it was caused by caffeine addiction, but now I see that caffeine just used to take them away for a while!

This was my first thought also! Water is so very important for so many things. It's not always easy to get your daily allowance in but it's really worth it! As close to a gallon as you can get, everyday. I know, a gallon? Sounds crazy but once you get started you'd be surprized just how easy it is to knock out 128 oz. of the wet stuff in the course of a full day (and night). I've been drinking a gallon of water a day for many years now and I very, very rarely ever have headaches. But that's also due in part to alleviating a LOT of junk from my diet. And exercising.

You mentioned allergies, WUB. So depending on whether or not your system would jive with them, herbs are awesome helpers/healers. Now, I'm not a doctor or professional anything but if you're so inclined you could look into a few different herbs for headaches. My main two are Chamomile and Catnip. I've yet to have a headache that Catnip tea didn't completely destroy!! It's great good stuff!! For me it works great. Probably a little more pronounced in its effects than Chamomile, at least in dealing with headache pain/discomfort.

So, if you're allergic to ragweed then Chamomile might not be such a good idea as it's from the same family. But Catnip should still be ok. Here's a link:

www.nealsyardremedies.com/Catnip-Dried-Herb

They're a little pricey there but they have good products. And a little always goes a long way! It's always best to get herbs that are certified organic. Sometimes this isn't possible but when it is that's certainly the way to go. You might even want to try local herb shops as they might be even a better deal, price-wise. Good luck WUB, I hope you get some relief really soon!!

Thanks for the reply, Phem. I'm fine on the water issue, I don't drink much else. I drink a few litres every day. I'll definitely have a look into what you've said, thanks for the advice.

I sent you an email, but peppermint essential oil works really well when you massage it into your temples. Just remember to avoid your eyes!
