so if experiencing time is an illusion, and everything has already happened. like a stream, and we are pebbles sensing the stream run past. but if we could see the whole stream from source to end itd be like we were outside of time.

ok
so everything happened.
doesnt that make us part of everything? from the beginning were a part of .. example, big bang singularity. to the end of time where the universe suffers heat death. our atoms and molecules have been everywhere.

and
time is like a prison right? if were outside of time then were freed from this.
maybe time is imposed on us.

No I don't think time is a prison

It's just a measure

Really?

Makes a lot of sense bats. On the odd occassion I'm off my nut, I like to be alone and surround myself with books and the interwebz.

I find my thought patterns are perfectly synchronistic and I can go for some hours just following a particular train. Before I begin, I ask myself a question I'd like answered, then just let go.

I try and write everything down as I'm going, but more often than not, it doesn't really make much sense when I come to. It's interesting to read nonetheless. Have had a couple of revelations health-wise just from doing this, so I'd highly recommend it.

The trick is just to try and gently nudge yourself back on to that particular thought pattern if you find yourself wandering.

As has been said many, many times before, we have access to EVERYTHING. Any time.
What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow: Our life is the creation of our mind.

clocks can encompass people , but time is ok

I wouldn't necesrrialy measure the day and night by time .

I prefer the more natural approach , you wake up when it's sunny at 6 O'clock and sleep till 8 in winter

Time only marks time , I will admit I hate it if I arrange to meet someone at such and such a time and they turn up late

Interesting topic, Batou! I like things like this.

What is time when one breaks it down? As a species we're still governed by the elements, cellular denigration after continuous replication (aging), and celestial objects (Stars, planets, asteroids, etc). What is left when a person is removed from that environment? I don't personally see time as a linear thing like a filmstrip with a predetermined plot and ending. I see it all existing simultaneously at any given instant, with an infinite amount of possibilities. What changes the possibilities is freewill and conscious choice, essentially altering physical reality as we know it. So, if it's to be interpreted in that sense, at least on a philosophical level, the only true imprisonment is a being's conscious and perceptional ability to view the choices at hand, and to understand what they amount to. :)
Form is merely a momentary manifestation of being, not a fixed reality.

History doesn't repeat itself, uninformed people repeat history.

To all progressive endeavors great or small, come unforeseen benefits on a scale larger than most give pause or contemplation of.

Not bad, thanks. The slut shorts don't appear to have had the desired effect yet though.

Definitely indie.

I like the idea of infinite universes, personally. So, technically, time is kind of linear in some of them, but not all, and that really depends on when and where 'you' are, if that makes any sense at all?

Pass the bong, bats. :spliff:

Tempus fugit..

Hmm, time is relative... I don't like to live by the clock a single bit. And usually I don't. Do stuff when I need to, or want, sleep when tired, eat when hungry. These things don't need any mechanical device to tell me when to do what.

Few years ago(there's the time thing again. :D :D ), i decided to live in timeless time, meaning that I stopped to give a toss about what clock says.. It has been quite fun, just do things by internal clock. ;)

Hmm. I personally do not believe that time exist, well just not in the way we have been taught of it being a linear one lane highway. I rather feel it is all directions and moments all happening at once with there being ways to enter those different moments.

When I am dreaming and experiencing lucidity I notice that I have the ability to transcend what we know as 'time' so that is the best way I can describe it in my point of view.

I bet the elite of the world are aware of much more and perhaps 'time' is part of the hidden knowledge they claim to possess. Same as the shamans of the tribal cultures of the world.

Interesting topic! I look forward to reading everyone's comments :pop:

I used to do that alot until I became a mother. It's impossible to do when you have children around. I just do it whenever I get the opportunity these days when no kids are around.

Enjoy it while you can hex :spliff:
