This sounds like a great idea :)

Unfortunately it's going to be difficult to organise due to the wide spread of locations of people here.

I did offer to put up some folk at my place (its big enough lol and very close to cork airport- I literally work on an ind estate outside the airport) however pesky is in aberdeen and the flights out are bloody expensive.

My guess is we need to make a group booking of something like centerparcs perhaps? All arrive the same week?
Or some campsite or other...

I suppose the 1st question to ask is, can we put up a map and get everyone to pin locations so we can see if we can come up with somewhere central...ish? :D

www.visitcumbria.com/sl/piel-castle.htm

Piel castle only works out £5 a night to stay there camping and they have toilets, little pub, etc.

I could even put people up just bought a big 3 story house so plenty of room. Proboly going to take me 6 months to do up thoe :)

I'm guessing Greece will be a bit too far for most of us :)

I've been having Athens meet ups every Friday since joining here.

It tends to be me getting drunk alone so far :drunk:

really nice idea nirvana :) I know that plans were discussed about peeps getting together and sharing skills knowledge etc at one point as well as just meeting up to say hi - the distance is most defo an issue particularly for those with dependents - be they of the animal or child kind - but am sure something could be worked out :)

Yes we could exchange skills etc about time we started doing something more constructive. Some of the awakening festivals are very expensive £300 for wk ends . Im sick of people cashing in on the idea about bringing people together. Why should it cost so much money to have unity. :conf:

It shouldn't if we just organise it ourselves.
The camping on the island near barrow is 1 idea, I'm not so sure its great if you have a wife and kids along, not for too long anyway :)

You should have a look at some of the apprentice's posts... he has ideas along the same lines and has no interest in financial gains. Have a read about the forum... survival ones are a good place to start

because ppl want to be happy and to belong, and where there is that want and need...there is some twat eager to exploit in the name of love and light

its only when you follow no-one but your own inner guidance do such schemes and festivals seem repugnant

but when one is organised without being expensive [cos we dont all have Doreen Virtue's 'virtues ;)] then yeah...the only thing of value is the friendships formed and the banters had

Centerparcs is cheap for midweek breaks off-peak tha knows? :)

IIRC you can get the whole family in there (I'm talking me,missus and 4 kids) for a week for less than 200 quid. (A lot less if you go as just 1 or 2 ppl)

There's one in Penrith would that be central-ish for most?

Theres 1 in barrow, a few in scotland, all we'd have to do is agree the week yep?
