As some of you are aware..... I have recently moved and have done a fair bit of cleaning. The cooker, splashback and very large hood are all stainless steel...to say they looked awful is an understatement...although quite new, the stainless steel was covered in watermarks, splodges and goodness knows what. For 3 days I tried soap and water, olive oil. baby oil, bicarb of soda, vinegar, special cloths and sprays, but nothing would improve how it looked.

In a last ditch attempt I tried 'Bar Keepers Friend' In a matter of minutes of using this product everything looked brand new, I was amazed.

If you have stubborn stains on stainless..haha.. steel, try it..you won't be disappointed.

Cleaning? What is the meaning of this strange new word you speak?



All I do is get a scouring pad and put some washing up liquid on it and away I go. It probably wouldn't work on ground in bunt on stains though.

If it's metal brown sauce, if it's glass vinegar and newspaper.

Isn't Lemon juice supposed to be good?

For windows...use a damp microfibre cloth. No smears and the job is done very quickly.

Tip....always best if the cloth has just come out of the washing machine as it will be evenly damp.

To keep cat hair off your furniture.

instead of using that awful toxic stuff on your drains, if your sink is blocked or the water draining slow
mix up some vinegar and bicarbonate of soda and pour that down, works just as well and isn't toxic.

Bleach water...hot bleach water and a little arm muscle... I use it on the floor when I mop, on the counters if I feel invaded by someone, have used it on the walls to take off marks (crayons, markers, pens, pencils, people wiping their hands on the walls as they walk, etc...). Just a tablespoon in a bucket of hot water, squirt of liquid soap for that.
Sometimes I will use it in the dishes if someone who was massively sick was in here, a teaspoon in a sink of hot, hot water with soap. Followed with a scalding hot rinse.
Old toothbrush works great in places like the taps on the sinks and baths, the bristles get what the finger cannot.
And my favorite, for dirty people who think they can come in the house with dirt literally falling off them...a hose

Cut a lemon,place in a bit of water, put in the microwave for a minute and it will make it smell nice and fresh.

Baking soda placed in your fridge will get rid of nasty odours.

Put a little washing up liquid in a bowl of water.
Place in microwave for a couple of minutes.
Wipe the inside clean

It deodorises it too.

Pour Coca Cola down the toilet, not a cleaning tip as such, just some advice.
