medical care and housing are both human. rights
imo ,
profiteering from basic human needs under the flag of

i was actually angry at alex jones description of the nhs
that he gave listeners ,
he ranted that it was stinking filthy etc
and one guy could barely move due to a chest cold
for 3 weeks and in usa he could get treatment in an hour and antibiotics to fix it ,

Good point re housing mushy.
Although it was probably introduced for many of the same reasons Andy describes re healthcare, it is also very important to many people and has been abused and degraded ever since.
Again, the only reason these things
seem not to be working is because certain elements want things to appear that way, imo. A local authority built housing development, for example, pays for itself in a matter of years, so in actual fact, causes little or no financial burden on our governments. Also consider, that those households unfortunate enough to have to apply for benefits re rent and council tax, don't actually see any of that money. Who does?
You see where I'm headed with this? Talk about a con-job. That's 'your' money, being claimed by those that need it, only to be given directly to those that don't. THAT is what is wrong with the system as it currently stands. And exactly the same could be said for the NHS re private contractors.
All the while, rent levels being inflated and hyped by those fortunate enough to have property to rent privately (and in some cases, even renting property originally constructed by our government, then sold on by our government, back to our government to house those in need, who in turn claim hb and c/tax benefit which goes back to...you've guessed it: our government).
Craziness.
