Yesterday I had to make a journey by car. It should have taken little over an hour to reach my destination, but instead took four hours.

I had to go from one side of outer London to the other. Not once was there a clear road and the majority of the time was spent just crawling along.

This made me think....how does anyone manage to get anywhere on time these days and what must the stress of worrying about getting to work and appointments etc...have on people?

Is the traffic problem the same where you live and how does it affect you?

My return journey was a breeze...Two overhead trains and two underground...I was home in an hour.

No probs getting around by car where I'm at :p

Or here Although the roads are basically farm tracks which means that if you drive a down and out mk2, you have to replace suspension parts fairly regularly

Grid lock, accidents,and construction going on constantly, it's got better but it is still very rough going.

I think the biggest problem is the south east area is so densely populated and I certainly wouldn't like to drive around the Greater London area. It would definitely be a complete nightmare for me.

Pheony, you are lucky to have such a great transport system in London.

I enjoy the ease of travel down there.

I wouldn't dream of driving around there though.
