Drive 80 miles round trip to work part time.
That's shit, a loong way. Didn't you say it was a dodgy road too?
Can't your dad up your pocket-money?
It sure is a long way, but I don't want to free load off my folks, so I work and pay them.
Anyway, Temple, TX is just barely not so close, yet close enough, to Ft Hood to offer.....a bit of color (not much), a bit of intellect (some), with just enough overall business failure to make me hang on long enough until my job closes up to collect unemployment.
Meanwhile, I don't oft purchase new clothes or shoes, which allowable at a cheap, part time job; drive a 21 year old truck that I'm sick of people criticizing, and contribute to my parents' bills while saving some money after paying for crappy, rural internet, health insurance, dental, the water bill, partial electric, partial grocery BS holiday and birthday gifts (an obligation) to keep the peace at home and at the office (mostly for my mind's sake).
My dad (and legally, on paper, my mother) provide a roof and food for me, I just contribute; and that's a lot better then some folks have it.
I've got a feeling that this time when the last man in the family dies, he'll have forgotten to update any documents, if I know my father.
Eh, that's a roof and food for the immediate for ya. The reality is, family is under no legal obligation to bequeath anything to children and so, by default, all is bequeathed to the wife, and from there????
Dad got shorted by his family ; that's the way the ball rolls. Every dollar from retirement, insurance, social security will goto Mother; I should have found a husband I could tolerate.....won't get any dolls, quilts or a sewing machine out of the deal this time as when my grand mother passed - couldn't sell any of it so it all went to a charity shop (Goodwill).
My father has no sons or male descendants, so I guess Mom will inherit the guns and property and what she doesn't do with them is up to her. I will wind up taking care of her as is my duty and was my duty to care for elder relations, but not their duty because they had to work to provide and teach me responsibility.
Odd.
I also had to represent my husband at family functions while he went to the bars and hunting and fishing during fortuitous times.
