At last! Praise be! The gates have opened.

It has taken fully 2 years to sell our old house in Bury St Edmunds (thanks to an ancient footprint that no longer matches the footprint of the house today). We had an offer on that house within the first two days of it being on sale, but because of the technical hiccups, it resulted in one buyer after another quitting after waiting for months on end (one potential buyer even rented a house in the same street, he was so keen). But we managed to get things sorted and two weeks ago the house was sold. YaaaaaaY!.

Which meant that the fourth house we had bid on here in Leamington is ours (the seller waited four months for us to get the old place gone; the one before him waited over five months before selling to someone else).

But, at last, we have the completion date and on Friday I go to pick up the keys to our own home. YaaaaaaaaY!

So, I'll be offline for a while to come, with the packing to leave mum and dad's house; then stripping/cleaning/redecorating the new place... just as the child is going back to school and I'm writing the last chapter of my "demon" manuscript, lolol.

But I will be back. Behave yourselves. (As if).

The whole lengthy process is enoough to turn anyone into a nervous wreck, just another reason why I rent from now on.

Why is it all made so bloody problematic buying and selling a property in this country ffs. There really is no need for it to be more complicated than buying a new car etc. One could almost suspect its deliberate eh...
