Ah, Margaret Rutherford. :D I have all her "Miss Marple" movies and wonderful they are too. I also particularly love her as the batty psychic in Blithe Spirit.... which I might also watch over Christmas (I have a lot of classics on dvd).

She had a really interesting life, you know (when she was very young, her father went nuts and battered her mother to death with a chamber pot - I kid you not. She suffered from depression a LOT; but her husband, the actor who played Mr Stringer in her Miss Marple films, absolutely adored her and genuinely couldn't understand why no one but him could see her actual physical beauty. He thought she was the most beautiful woman on earth. Awwwww. He died within a year of her, having nursed her through the last years of her life. Awwwww).

:)

Do you look like Margaret Rutherford?

Yep. There's not a sheet of bronco between us.

:)

ETA: I've dipped into the classics on dvd :D and am currently watching Born Yesterday with the wonderful Judy Halliday as we speak/type :D .

I'm going to be watching

The Queen In 3D!!!!!!
The Queen is to pay tribute to the nation's Olympic and Paralympic athletes in her Christmas broadcast.

She will hail the "splendid summer of sport" and highlight how the sportsmen and women allowed spectators to feel part of the "excitement and drama".

For the first time the address will be broadcast in 3D.

Awesome!
This year, to celebrate the olympics, she's gonna be on a trapeze swinging back and forth and somersault off it so it looks like she's coming right through your fucking screen!.
Or maybe she'll be topless, have tassels on her nipples, and swing them round and round so they look like they're swinging right in your face!
And then she'll shapeshift into a blood drinking reptile with it's tongue flicking out and look like she's in the room, lurching forward to grab you and eat your very soul!!!
Whoah!

All these years of boring 2d queen - I thought it was just a mad dream we'd see her in full 3d glory. I hope there's explosions and stuff bursting through walls and that. It's gonna be the best queen's speech since that year she was going on about her horrible anus.

Maybe she's gonna go all Lo-Pan on us and send some evil royalist vibe through the screen. :O

I was a bit bored so I was going to download a film to watch. I fancied watching the film "Senna" about, believe it or not, Ayrton Senna. Unfortunately, this was £8 to download in standard definition, whereas the DVD is £4.25 on Amazon, and £12 in high definition, whereas the Blu-Ray is £8 in Amazon. Thus, Sony are repeating their policy from games of charging at least 50% more for a digital download than a physical disc with a box and inlay. I refuse to be ripped off in this way.

Thus, I haven't downloaded it from the Playstation Network, I have found an alternative source, and am watching Australia v Sri Lanka while it downloads. I hope it's got subtitles because my Portugese is a bit sketchy.

Some new games on PSN are around £57, whereas the same game can be bought in a shop for about £44.99, or online for around the same price, or cheaper.

When they first come out on the PSN now they tend to be £60. They know that spoilt kids will probably be able to pester their parents into buying them. There's simply no justification for digital downloads to be 50% more expensive than a physical product, for obvious reasons.

They'd better work out a more convivial system for when they phase physical media out, or I will be finished with video games. I'll get a PS4 off Ebay and stick with the games on that.

I'm of the opinion wub, that when they do phase physical media out, they'll set their sights on downloads after that, and we'll pay a subscription fee for game streaming/temporary downloading.

The film I'm downloading now is free, but it's a bit of a pisser to download a Blu-Ray film for free, so I was going to splash out seeing as it's Christmas. The trouble with downloading this film is it's going to be bloody useless for me without subtitles.Mr. Wolf wrote:

I'm sure you're right there. I don't necessarily have a problem with that model, but I heavily suspect it will be bent in favour of the developer not the consumer. I know people like WoW and all that stuff, but doesn't it cost about £8 per month for a subscription? I'm not paying £100 per year to play a game.
