It's just the kind of pointless distraction and media circus that people like Morgan fasten on to. It's only bad for people who watch cycling because someone ruined the Tour de France for virtually a decade by cheating massively. If you don't watch the Tour de France then I find it rather hard to get on your high horse about.

I don't think taking drugs is cheating. I mean is it cheating to eat lots of fruit?

I watch piers earlier in the evening he went on a tirade and I found it unusual for a news commentator to show what was in my opinion excessive verbal abuse, in his tone, and words.

Just seemed highly unusual to me considering other things that take place in the world of a more serious nature, that just get expressed in a matter of fact tone

His entire team were involved. That's the doctors, mechanics, management, dieticians etc, and on top of that there was the pressure - from Armstrong personally - placed upon his team mates to dope as well. Any rider who wouldn't play along was out the door and pretty much out of the sport.

It's a very long and complex tale with perhaps the worst part being that many, many whistle-blowers, some going back 10 years or more, have lost their careers because they dared to speak out against him. Thankfully there have been 1 or 2 journalists (and a special mention here to the wonderful Betsy Andreu) who have never stopped digging and have finally been rewarded for their tenacity.

For what it's worth I would like to see all performance enhancing drugs allowed in sport. I think it would be quite a laugh. Maybe we could have 2 categories of sport, 1 straight and 1 banjo'd.

What some drugs can do however is enhance performance of a particular skill.
