I am talking on a country and world wide level not a personal level.

Do you think the system will collapse?

Considering the amount of people, nations, corporations, with a vested interest in maintaining it, collapse is least likely of a few possibilities, imo, austerity and centrism will give rise to Nationalism, Europhobia and Right wing populism throughout most of Europe.

Yes but only in the sense that it will be replaced by a new system.
100% digital currency IMHO.

The current economic system demands perpetual growth for it to work, they have just destroyed any chance of that with the continuing bailouts and the debt blackhole from hell.
There's only 1 way out of it now and if I can see it they already know about it.

It tends to go that when things get scarce the haves take a 'fuck you Jack I got mine' attitude.
Others will look for someone else to blame because they ain't got theirs.
The poor, the disabled, immigrants, anyone who's 'not them' is fair game.

Hardly anyone will bother asking, "Where did it all go? Who has it?"

Trillions upon trillions went into banks and they STILL blame immigrants and doleys. You have to marvel at the sheer epic skullfuckery of it all.
I'd hate to imagine life as such a retard tbh, no wonder they haven't got a job yet.

It's all about supply and demand if this fails in critical areas , clean water, food, for example or a mega natural disaster like a kill shot from the sun on the power grid the human race may face extinction, or become something never before seen in human history............ world wide cannibalism/

I pray to all my gods that this is not in the cards for the future innocents on the planet

The human race wouldn't face extinction.
There are people (and plenty of em) who live in countries where there is little in the way of the modern infrastructure we are accustomed to in the west. They would barely notice. In fact...they'd probably thrive because no-one would be bothering them anymore.

I agree.
It's a sobering thought when you realise that around 50% of the global population have never even made a phonecall.

a earth changing event would effect everyone some distant nomad that never had any modern comforts, the human creature has ravaged the earth and earth weeps;

Messed up fresh water polluted the air, glorified trash clothes and indulgent sexy makeup on women when they should be plain and somber

Denied a god or gods with a heathen atheistic view

And destroyed any family values or pride in working hard and sweating for your rewards

humanity deserves what they get

I think it's absolutely guaranteed it will collapse....but no-one knows when or how. It just has to though. Civilisations come and go and none of them have been so intricately interwoven and interconnected as hours. All it takes is for oil to stop flowing and we're all fucked.

If it would help, I can at this point claim:

A/Niburu/huge asteroid/godlike aliens who will cure all disease and stuff are IMMINENT and we are all going to DIE/BE SAVED based on some IRREFUTABLE things said on the internet and a grainy photo of space.

b/I am from the future! straight up! Ask me your questions and I will tell you how it's all going to go down in a suitably vague way. No winning lottery numbers or who wins the FA cup in 2014 please.

3/Alex Jones says we're all going to die - and he's right!!!!!

Hey, if civilisation is going to collapse there's no reason not to look sexy when it happens. The world is shit enough as it is without the ladies being confined to shapeless boiler suits with no exciting underwear.

Which maybe involves some hypocrisy on my part. But, ah, chicks dig scruffy men with frayed elastic on their boxer shorts....right ladies? :emb:

The expression that we will all become familiar with in the next months / years is 'currency war'.

There's going to be a battle between the BRIC nations and Japan, and the traditional power-brokers in the Anglo-American / EU countries. Lots of people are predicting that there will be currency collapses as a result of this. I'm not sure if that's the case, but it certainly won't help the purchasing power of Sterling / Euro / Dollar. I'm sure everything possible will be done to pretend that the level of inflation is much lower than it actually is, as is occurring now.

As a result of this, China will eventually become the world superpower, and will demand a more prominent role in existing global financial and economic instiutions. Or it could possibly claim that they are totally out of date, and demand new ones to be set up with China at the centre of them, but I think this is unlikely.

The dollar will no longer be in any position to be the world's reserve currency so that will be replaced, quite probably by a new global currency. It's hard to say what will happen to all of the individual currencies, but I have seen some quite sensible and knowledgeable people state that all of the individual currencies will be retained in order to convince the public that they still exist in a significant sense, but that they'll all be pegged to a global currency, thus achieving a global currency de facto standard in hassle-free fashion.

I'm not sure how the transition to an even more digitalised currency will be managed, but cash is only really used today for small-scale payments, I think approximately 0.2% of all purchases in value terms. Perhaps by then everyone will be loving using their mobile phones to pay for stuff, and this will help the transition. The monetary system is to all intent and purposes digitalised now, and already based on total pie-in-the-sky, so the only issues to be managed here are logistical rather than ideological.

Nothing will be done to harm the Bank for International Settlements system, as it took decades of hard work to set up, and this is why I think China will not demand that new institutions are set up. The existing institutions have already enabled a small cabal of people to plunge virtually every nation in the world into huge amounts of debt and take control of the vast majority of them, so I think what you will see is an increasing influence of the new dominant power bloc, and decline of the influence of the existing, traditional Western, particularly Anglo-American influence over these institutions. Eventually the news media will tell people that this has happened, although they will deny that it's happening all the way up to the point when it becomes self-evidently ridiculous for them to continue saying this.

Most people will not even notice that anything has happened.
The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.

.

Totally with you on that.
The names will stay, paper format will disappear along with any oversight of the system so inflation as we know it will disappear, state and corporations will both have intimate knowledge of whats going on.

I expect new tax laws to be introduced that destroy small business and for corporate mergers to continue towards ever smaller groups of big names owning everything. Only large corporations and corporations sole will have tax advantages.

Further into the future we can see porting tech to the brain, the birth of AI and the singularity. If a few retain control of this then we'll see a new split in the human race, the rich will evolve into hyper intelligent cyborgs, the poor will probably be sterlised and used for slave labour or probably just eliminated altogether.
