Most of the tents they're selling now have a ready sewn in groundsheet, which helps a lot with the bug problem. Sit them on a separate footprint groundsheet and the insulation's far better than you got with tents a few years ago. I've a fitted carpet & rugs in mine too. And inflatable sofas alongside the usual camping chairs, so it's luxury compared with when I used to camp as a kid. :D

It's 'glamping'. I can remember as a youngster me & older brother waking up to find ourselves floating around on our camp beds in melted snow.

Bugger that for a lark. ! :D

Still, I do resist getting electrical hook-up, because it restricts you to the uglier placed pitches, generally near the shop / lavatory areas. I wish there were more spots round here where they'd let you set up tent that aren't actually camping sites. Still, I absolutely love it when you find a site where there are friendly loonies camped, who want to share their bbq'd burgers, and persuade you to sing with them round the fire. :rofl:

Our thrash bands second gig. And we just might get an real audience this time... The happening we attend to has some 800 people interested, well, in Facebook, even if only one of three comes there...
