About the only thing around here different on a Friday night is the evening catfish buffet is more expensive.

If your young and want to hit some clubs you will need to drive 75 miles or so

Though the prospect of going sitting in a bar holds no appeal. Stacked prices, youngsters posturing wearing very little indeed, thugs looking for trouble, and loud, dreadful 'music' all make me shudder. I am officially elderly, and I don't care. :D

I'm actually glad that I'm old(er) now because now when I slag off young people and youth culture it sounds appropriate. It never quite sat happily with people when I was 18 and did it.

But you just reminded me what a blessed relief it is I don't have to participate in any of that nonsense any more.

I'd always rather go camping tbh. Though I do like a nice olde worlde country restaurant - preferably within walking distance of the camp site for nights when it's too wet to cook outdoors comfortably . As long as there's wine. :)

the only thing bad about camping when it warms up her are the really bad insect predators, they are ferocious

camping tent has to have a floor with a net liner, and last few years camping fires have turned some regions here to hell


the particular region I live in is out of drought danger now, me and my fishing buddy will hit the road soon
