Just got back from Cornwall the seagulls are utterly mad they're like winged scallies. Saw various bits of food swipage from bemused people & even a little kid. They've been known to land on peoples arms in a snatch & fly raid! Years ago, one flew through our apartment window & robbed my mates bacon butty.... much to my amusement!

You can respect them going after a noble hunter like the eagle, but those rotten magpies harass little birds and sweet-natured wood pigeons.

As for crows, they taunt my jack-russels by sitting still until the last possible second when they rush at them, then landing again just out of reach.

Yep, a seagull tried to snatch my daughter's sandwich when we were in Cornwall too. She even shrieks if a daddy-long-legs or moth comes near her, so you can imagine the kerfuffle.

I'm (strangely) always a bit surprised at how big they are, up close. I like them. I'm sure if I was a bird, I'd try to nick food off people for fun.

You can tell when the sea's choppy round the Blackpool coast, 'cause it brings them to our neck of the woods.

We have A Herring Gull that lives off our skip. It's one legged cos someone shot it and nearly missed. Tough old bird that one. Lives off pasties. Proper Cornish bird.

It sounds like a right character.

Did you know that if you give a seagull Alka Seltzer it is much less likely to suffer from acid indigestion?

It never occurred to me they'd suffer from acid. Who knew!

Haha, I went down to the lake to feed the geese and swans a couple of days ago. I was stood about 2 foot in front of the two Canada families and about 2 foot form the pair of black swans. I'd chuck a handful for the geese, they'd eat it, then hiss and crane their necks aggressively at me.
