Let me be the first to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Hope that it’s not as bad a year economically as it quite possibly promises to be.

Bear in mind that the New Year is totally meaningless because the whole concept of when the year starts is arbitrary, based as it is on the calendar system which is an abstraction that has nothing to do with what a year actually is. In fact, for about twenty years in the eighteenth century Britain and mainland Europe were using a completely different calendar, and of course many parts of the world continue to use different calendars to this day.

That said...Happy New Year!

The last 365 days collectively known as 2013 have contained some very high and very low points, all character building of course, but here's to hoping the next 365 days are smoother for all!

Well it's been a memorable year for me. From my lowest ebb ever, to some truly wonderful moments.

I have discovered a lot about myself, not all good tbh, but hopefully I am in a better place now.

I have insulted people, got into stupid arguements, and allowed myself to get wound up over nothings, LOL, I even had a bit of a flounce too,
and through it all you all kept your faith in me.

Through it all there has been you lot, thankyou for being you, I love you all (yes IAAIA, you too)

Well its new year here now, allus some bugger on the estate kept some fireworks back and woke up the kids lol

Well the gratuitous OTT fireworks display over the Thames right now could have been spent suspending tax on pubs and restaurants for an evening so people could afford to go out for the night instead of staying in to watch Boris light up London for twenty rather repetitive minutes.

Saw the new year in in Plymouth..... the clock struck 12 and it proceeded to absolutely wank it down & it's only just stopped!

As Chinese lanterns haven't been made illegal yet, we did some arson with them at midnight. Bonnie red heart-shaped ones they were and once the paraffin wax block was properly ignited on each, all bar one of them dropped straight out, or set the paper on fire. There were lots of fires around the garden (my sisters, so that's OK) and a trellis made a lovely bonfire.
