Landmark prosecution sees bong seller convicted
A shop owner has been convicted of selling items he knew would be used for drug taking in a landmark prosecution.
Hassan Abbas, 33, ran the Fantasia shop in Leeds which sold bongs, plastic bags and grinders all decorated with cannabis leaf designs.
While the items themselves are not illegal, a prosecutor argued that staff knew the products would be used for taking marijuana.
Abbas was found guilty of supplying articles used to administer or prepare controlled drugs. He was fined £800.

Obviously had a shit solicitor.
There is no way this could have been prosecuted unless in a tongue in cheek - lets have a go attitude.

They will get off if they appeal - If they can be arsed, which most people don't.

It is like blaming Tesco for selling knives - and then one of their customers goes all unlawful and uses a completely lawful object to commit a crime.
I bought one of those multi-tube bongs in the eighties and smoked Benson and Hedges in it, in a local pub. Initially the landlord was concerned but once he knew it was legla ....no problems.
A pipe is a pipe - the seller has no control over what is smoked in it, once it is sold - legal or illegal. FFS they could prosecute Tesco for selling frying pans - coz it could, potentially be used for a cannibal fry up.

I get the impression the dibbles don't like these 'head' shops at all. Hermans keeps getting busted & shut down - only for it to reopen.
Hermans got busted for that Mcat stuff about 2 days after they made it illegal.

Cops wont like them but someone does or they would've been gone by now.

Personally, I'd rather all the legal high shit was wiped from the streets as its messing people up in all manner of ways and to be quite honest, I dont get why they can't do more about them. So many people, with the majority of them being youngsters, are taking all sorts of things now on a regular basis because they've eliminated the fact that previously you needed a 'dealer' to get your hands on anything! Busting the shop owners for a bong just seems like someone somewhere is having a big fucking laugh at our expenses. Yet again.

Far as I'm concerned, when it comes to drugs, it's better the devil you know.
