So what about promoting these officers through the ranks? If they're deliberately recruiting those with the IQ of a jar of meat paste, what about the upper echelons, who are (presumably) required to be somewhat brighter?

G'day Gilly.

Cronyism is rife in the police force ... or it was when I was in it (I got out 22 years ago now). I doubt very much it has changed as it had apparently been that way for donkeys years. It's the old, jobs for the boys, which is one of numerous reasons that people leave the job.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

I don't doubt it, IAAIA, but if they're selected for their unreasoning acceptance of orders, they're going to struggle if promoted to a position where reasoning is crucial, and they're expected to issue orders.

Cronyism was rife as hell 40+ years ago.

The neighbors called the cops on Mom and Dad for their loud and violent arguments. NOBODY went to jail. Who gave a sh!! about the damn, loud, crying kid beating her head on the porch post.

Hey, they already got involved enough, the rest is up to the authorities. Such is life in the big city.

I wonder about recruitment tactics.

I was looking up some info online and came across some articles about mi5 recruitment, even journalists get recruited, which begs the questions, Why? and what exactly do they get? or, get to see? because certain information given in to the wrong hands could have disastrous consequences.

Some are worried just about the police and journalists interactions.

An army officer might have to make key decisions in the heat of the situation without access to comms for verification from higher command.
Its doubtful the police would ever be in such a situation.

That said there's also the angle to consider that police chiefs are a political position in many countries, sometimes not necessarily recruited from the force.

You have to ask yourself though...surely detectives would be expected to be of reasonable smarts/education?
Do they have a separate recruitment process for detectives?

I am slowly beginning to think that certain issues are not to be raised on this site.
Why?

If this is an alternative news site and all.

People seem to go quiet at things I would expect them to have an opinion at least.

Mainly about (bad) journalism Andy and certain connections.

Quite a trollish style question there, Silvershine. Who here do you suspect of being a journalist / psychopath?

Not trollish Gilly, I get the impression there seems to be a bit of 'arse twitching' going on sometimes, am I wrong?
Firstly, I need you to tell me that everyone on here knows everyone and have met each other personally? can you do that?

May I suggest you open a thread for this purpose, rather than derailing this one further?

No.
I have seen enough to reach my conclusions of what I originally thought and also what may be known about the David Icke forum and other forums, and certain individuals.
I will say farewell now.

Hmmm there's a few threads about bad journalism and its not taboo by any means imho.

Can't say I've ever picked that up here Silvershine, crap journalism certainly comes up and is by no means taboo.
I can't think of any topics which are tbh. :dunno:

Stick around please.

I will do for now.
Feather, I can't expect you to understand because you are not me and haven't been through what I have.
I trust noone, and, there are lots of reasons for that.
When there are people in your life who you think are good and trusting, then, you find out how vile they really are it is quite upsetting, I refuse to have anything to do with them, I have also had to endure being intimidated and followed (by professionals) for simply speaking the truth. WTF is that all about?, not to mention what my own have said about me, which lately was found to not be true.

I've had my life interrogated and stripped, its a wonder I am still here.
Emotional blackmail too.

I have been told (in a veiled way) to not speak about certain people because I may get locked up for it?

The worst thing anyone can do is tell me to shut up. :D but, still, I get on with life.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of what I have been through.

You make a few inaccurate assumptions there Silvershine.

Yup, I've been fucked over by people very close to me I've trusted before. BIGTIME.
I've not had the followed by professionals bit but I have discovered vile, long term lies and misrepresentations of me I had no clue about previously and any attempts to counter those being interpreted as defensive bs. You can't win.

So yeah, I can understand generally where you might be at the moment.
I won't patronise you with lectures or advice about trying to rise above it or getting your life back together.
That will hopefully come at it's own pace. Sure you'll have scars but hopefully the wounds will stop seeping and heal over enough to function again.

I do however have no reservations in stating or reassuring you that I have not witnessed what you thought you perceived here.
I'm certainly fallible and may have missed something but at present I have no evidence for that mate. (or I would say so).

We do have to accept though that people may have very polarised views and debate can get a bit warm but we also try to have an atmosphere of self-moderation and respect for each other. So if a thread is getting to hot, or frustrating, I suggest, leave it.
It will fade into the past.

Hang about man, it's a decent group of folks here. The occasional hair-tugging is just rough play.
