I wanted to further elaborate on my previous posts here. Sometimes I rely too much on the fact that we're all kinda on the same page here [in that we all know there's a major problem with things and that we desperately need change] and I just assumingly think y'all will just "get" me, even when I don't go into explicit detail. So I just wanted to fill in the empty spaces, if you will.

I see the "positive" side and a lot of the perks and even advantages in having drones flying openly over U.S. airspace. I just don't trust the corrupted powers behind them to remain loyal to the American citizens best interests and keep it noble. It will end badly.
I guess what I failed to add here was "in a more perfect world".
I in no way think that these drones are anything but trouble! Bad, bad, bad, ALL the way around!! I was only pointing out that yes [again now,
in a more perfect world] this kind of technology
could be used for great things. Because in that more perfect world we wouldn't have psychopathic world leaders directing brain-dead, blood-thirsty, corrupted & incompetent law enforcement/military to go completely against every last interest of
The People at every turn.

I think Mike summed it up nicely in his last few posts. Essentially, to help out in police work. I mean, I still think we need "law & order". We need police, some form of military AND [can't believe I'm actually saying this] some form of government. What we don't need is the kind of fucked up corruption-filled system that we've got now and have had since probably forever!!
I think "bad guys" need to be caught and brought to Justice. I don't think many people here will disagree with that. And I think that police-work needs some help. Because they're certainly not getting it done right as it is!! But with the introduction of such measures [unmanned drones] there's a big, huge can of worms being opened up and I really don't think it's going to work out very well. Not for Joe Public. Not in the long-run. There's just way too much else going on that when lumped together with this, well it just spells trouble!!
So for all the positive aspects that these drones could bring, they drag right along with them a whole slew of bad, worse and downright unthinkable things too. All anybody has to do is look at the last ten or so years of what's gone on in America and it's not hard to see where things are being led to. That's just my thoughts on it.
And sure, I'd like to see the current system thrown down the well. Start ALL over from scratch and lay a new foundation upon which to build the best possible functioning societal infrastructure. But is that really anymore viable as an option than trying to fix this current broken system?? Do you think all seven billion souls of this planet would be onboard?? Would there not be a whole new host of problems brought to the surface with this birthing of a new paradigm?? I'm all for evolving as a species but people prove EVERYDAY that it's gotta be babysteps or nothing at all.
I get it, Capitalism is rape! I don't argue that. And I know it's not working. Unless you're one of the few that set that system in place. But I don't trust humanity to "be the change" when it comes to there actually
being a change. At least not one so profoundly HUGE as "starting over". Maybe our current system [being flawed from the foundation upwards] can't be salvaged, but I think it'd be worth a try to see if it could. I really like indoor plumbing, hot & cold running water, shelter and somewhere to buy food. Of course it could ALL do with a good gutting-out and refurbishing, but modern conveniences are here and I'd like to see most of them stick around.
This planet needs a great purging. It has to start with People. And no better place to start than those in places of power. If your authority figures are laughed at and mocked because of their painfully obvious dishonesty & hypocrisy, do you expect everyday people to see there being anything worth changing for?? So a good cleanse of ALL institutions would HAVE TO BE the first order of business.
I for one think that, for the most part, we
do still need "police" or some type of law enforcement. I'm just not willing OR able to believe that murderers, rapists or child molesters would just turn over a new leaf overnight if there were a global announcement that the world no longer had any form of lawful authority. It just wouldn't happen! And I can't for ANY reason see why these kinds of people should be left to their own devices. So as it stands, yes, we need law enforcement. It is however sad and unacceptable that so many of these so-called officers of the law are becoming more and more something resembling the criminal element they were supposed to be employed to fight against. Again, that huge, global purge.
We also need some form of military. Not a murdering band of thugs for hire traveling to third world wastelands to level already stone-age-like societies. I'm talking about protection of
The People. This is not what we have at the present. But if we did away with it completely it wouldn't be long until Somali pirates swooped in on roller skates to fuck our shit right up!! If not them, someone like them. The planet has become [always has been?] a predatory place. I know a lot of people just want to live and let live and be peaceful but there are enough of those that don't that make it all go off the rails for the rest of us.
We also need some form of government. As much as I hate to say it, we do. Certainly not the low-life, self-serving douchebags that have been in power since George Washington, but some type of governing body that is FOR, OF and BY "The People". So far, there hasn't been such an entity and I'd like to see it happen for once!
Maybe I'm dreaming. I'm sure a lot of people would love to see anarchy take the stage. That would be nice, but it would never work! Maybe a few small, scattered pockets of people "doing it right" but for the most part things would quickly turn into
Mad Max or
The Book Of Eli. I know some might argue that it wouldn't but again, I don't have that kind of faith in humanity. People can't be trusted to do the right thing just for the sake of being good. Especially when it deals them the short end of the stick! They need to know that there are consequences to their actions when those actions are of misdeeds.
But please, don't get me wrong. I'd love to see the planet functioning smoothly without any form of "higher authority". Self-governing people sounds awesome, but in practice it would fall through some seriously big cracks. This place would NOT turn into an overnight peace & love hippy commune where everybody was raw vegan and nobody bathed and everyone wore dreadlocks, there was no violence or hatred and everyone gathered around a nightly campfire to hold hands and sing hippy-hymns. [That sounds nightmare-ish anyway!!] It would be a jungle. Period.
I could be totally wrong. But in my opinion, we're just really kinda screwed either way. It would just boil down to the lesser of two bad scenarios. There is no wonderful, beautiful age of enlightenment on the horizon. Our future [successful or otherwise] will be wrought of blood, sweat and struggle. Spiritual evolvement will be a great help in this going forward but for many it won't even register. Not exactly "doomsday" but most certainly a LOT of hard work.
