I remember back in the day we used to get as bonged up as we could whilst remaining conscious, crash on the bed with vinyl played so loud we couldn't sleep and this particula bit of skin beating took me on amazing 'journeys'.

I had a full size Rory poster on my bedroom wall. Fecking loved the guy.

We sneaked in to see him once, in Birmingham, Rory was there but the band (Taste) were delayed by a crash somewhere.
So Rory took to the stage and did an acoustic set for an hour. Then he asked if anyone in the audience could play drums and piano, just enough to lay down a backing. 2 guys jumped up and they had an impromptu jam for about 1/2 hour. Then the band turned up, and we were treated to the full set. Then, at the end , a full refund was offered due us having been "inconvenienced".

Another one for the Rory Gallagher Adoration Society here.
Had the shirt, the hair, the guitar it was just the fekking fingers that let me down! :(

He was a lovely, unassuming guy as well. There's loads of stories like jhado's out there.
Even Brian May tells of seeing Rory at the Marquee and as a cheeky young guitarist asking Gallagher how he got his sound. Most guitarists are gonna tell you at this point to "Git kid!" . Not Rory.
I've yet to find a single tale slanging him off.
He and the band used to even roadie their own gigs, (apparently it took them longer to set up the backstage bar than the stage gear).
