She bloody better be. :bat:

Stupid mate of mine made me queue for over three hours with her to go and see her box. Still can't believe I did that...

:chuckle: Can you imagine, you were standing there after arguing with your friend for 3 hours, staring at an empty box :killinme:

Probably...even if she were dead, I doubt they'd actually risk putting her out there, tbh. I did try and explain this to my friend.

As ever with the royals, it's all about the 'ceremony'. ;)

I imagine they had to leave her out in the open for a while to let the gin fumes evaporate before risking shutting the box.
An explosion outside Westminster Abbey could have been a bit messy. :umm:

I suppose... but, as with the royals and their trustworthiness... we gotta question, did the old woman really die, or are they keeping on ice and preserving her, or is she still running a muck on the loose somewhere? :O

Hypothesis:

1.) He has a chronic immune issue focusing upon the bladder - he is 91 years old.

2.) There is another, chronic issue of health that may have reached its 'apex', so to speak.

When elders get sick enough to go into the hospital so often, well, they can last another decade in poor health, or go just like that.

I intend no disrespect to the idea of the Duke, I only view this issue from what I have seen in elderly folks.

It did not escape my notice that Queen Elizabeth seemed to have an.....could care less, or world weary expression during the opening games. That lady has seen so may weddings, births, state dinners, presidents and premiers, olympics, wars, divorces, scandles, market fluctuations, corgis, etc., that she can no longer even pretend.

I've seen many an advanced, elderly folk who just was jaded by it all behaving the same.

Just my opinion, again, made without affording offense.

What could I say on this topic? I don't really know what to think about these kings and queens.. Most of the time I just find them to be sad relics from another time, showitems for stupid people. All they need is some food and circus to keep them happy and entertained. Royals come in on the entertainment aspect.

They for some reason seem to last forever, like nothing kills them... It must be very tough to be 91 year old rockstar for masses. May the coldness of earth soon envelop them into it's embrace.. And may all the world forget they ever existed.

It always amazes me how people think the Royals have no influence and how it's a total waste of time timing to reason with people on this matter. There's a definite resurgence of kneeling tho, I can't remember it being this bad when I was growing up? I actually afforded a little chuckle at the street decorations earlier in the year..... those very cheap looking strings of bunting each with a picture of the queens head on... truely gruesome :D

I have never lived in a country that had a actual or figurehead monarchy ,as for being king or queen and the ranks as they descend.

The thing I don't understand about some of the replies is the hate, and bad wishes for a individual,I can understand this if someone has done some dreadful thing to you, or friends and family, but to focus this and express it in a hateful tone isn't good in my opinion.

If it were up to me the older ones would be on a state pension and the younger ones on job-seekers allowance by Monday morning.

Most of their tacky, shiney, shit would be flogged on Ebay.
The good stuff would be distributed amongst our public museums so everyone had a chance to view and enjoy it.

Buckingham Palace would be converted into accommodation for MP's who have their homes outside London so they could fuck off with their 2nd home expenses rackets.

All their estates would be offered out to poor folks to build allotments/crofts on at peppercorn rents.

Not that I have an opinion about these leeching bastards at all. :)

I'd like to echo Rick's thoughts. I don't think it's good for us as individuals to be creating energy that could be said to be hateful. Let alone good for others.

I 100% agree.
Since time in memorial, we have had 'leaders of the pack', from Royalty to politicians, to TPTB, the 'elite'...et all. There's no getting away from that construct until we as individuals realise that right down to the microcosm of our own family there is a 'leader' of the pack. Nothing will ever, ever change until we start taking care of our 'family'. There are ways of living appart from the so called 'have all's'. As to them being leeches ....get out of their system, don't buy into it. And as for them being retilians...oh please...until I see one walking up my garden path........

Why oh why do folk persist in going on like this? Do they not realise they are making themselves no better than those they are attacking?

I agree with dubs...(hey dubs! :) ) I have been lurking for a very long time around these boards, and I really thought you guys would try and really create something different, outside the box and a truly inspirational forum......in the most part it is......but where is the get up and go...walk your talk? Huh? Stop feeding the neg's guys!

First of all, let me say WELCOME :grouphug: I can't quite remember if you are who I think you are, but welcome none-the-less.

Now... I can't speak for everyone else who may or may not have made a negative sounding comment, but personally, mine are meant more in a sarcastic tone (as is basically everything else I say)...however, I would not weep should scum such as P.P. die, nor would I weep at the death of child molesters, rapist or murderers. I would be happy that the world is one more short of those type of people...same on the molecular level, maybe...decent person they are not, worthy of my sympathies they are not. It's like an older person demanding respect of the younger generations but doing nothing to deserve it other than growing old, which in my book does not immediately grant them respect just because they have some wrinkles and are elderly. I really don't know how that analogy I just gave fits, but it's what came to my foggy brain :coffee:
I am no better than them, I agree... no one is any better than anyone else really... no one is on a pedestal, top of the food chain, above everybody else...we're all equal, even if some of those tend to do evil things and harm others. Sticks and stones, name calling, etc... are just that, I do not think (unless on a massive scale) foul words are gonna do much harm to anyone (even to ourselves), but that's just my opinion. Being allowed to voice your opinion, even if it is full of foul language, is...nevermind, I have no idea where I am going with that lol... ignore me...

Welcome though :)

Hello and welcome Angelchemuel.

Other people here might know you really well. I don't. But I suspect you're a thoroughly nice person, with lots of interesting points to raise. So I hope this won't come across as hostile. It isn't really meant to be.

You're more than welcome to your own opinion, of course, on the royal family and anybody else - but why oh why isn't it sufficient to simply express your own opinion on the thread title.

Why oh why do new members seem to think it's obligatory to come with a holier than thou attitude, casting judgement on other members here?

Why oh why does everything seem to be perceived as a reflection of the ethos of the site, which people seem to think is here for everyone to allocate marks out of 10 to?

Why oh why should people have to start justifying their black humour on a matter like this to you? :conf:

If it wasn't obvious, those questions were all rhetorical.

You're more than welcome to your own opinion, of course, on the royal family and anybody else - but why oh why isn't it sufficient to simply express your own opinion on the thread title. I was supporting Rick and dubs comments....neither of whom were responding to the thread title but other posts in the thread. Thank you for allowing me my own opinion. May I ask you to show me where your opinion on the thread title is please?

Why oh why do new members seem to think it's obligatory to come with a holier than thou attitude, casting judgement on other members here? I am not a new member, I am a returning one...I will let others tell you who I am. I don't and didn't judge anyone...seems you are judging me though...but I could be wrong.

Why oh why does everything seem to be perceived as a reflection of the ethos of the site, which people seem to think is here for everyone to allocate marks out of 10 to? I refer you to my previous comment, suffice to add I played a part with Diamond getting the original Sanctum going. Other members who know me know very well I am not marking the forum out of 10.
Why oh why should people have to start justifying their black humour on a matter like this to you? :conf: You are questioning Rick and dubs posts too I take it?
If it wasn't obvious, those questions were all rhetorical.
I noticed the question marks, so I have replied.Although I wasn't aware I had asked any questions...just made statements.
