Personally, i don't rate the sas survival books. Ok there's some useful bits in em but not much of benefit to yer average westerner if tshtf.

Books like food for free by richard mabey, in conjunction with a field guide or two would be of greater help i think. Ofc only a fool would wait till tshtf to try out stuff they find in a book. I would recommend anyone to get out in the wilds and get used to 'roughing it'. Not just in case tshtf but more so because it is a very very beneficial thing to do.

You missed my post on another thread about cutting off all power to my house in the middle of last winter to see how my boy would cope didn't you? :D
Also, the SAS book does cover edible wild food too.
Best case scenario for a girlie....befriend an SAS guy or two, or three! :D
