thanks for that vid gilly - I see he is using the same 'exponential curve' as the makers of viagra 'it will grow and grow and grow!!' but as with the peoples voice viagra really needs a ready and willing and gullible consumer willing to pay over the odds in order to be profitable. it could also have potentially painful side effects.
The thing I find fascinating is the idea that people do not already have a platform from which to get their ideas, innovations and theories 'out there'. The internet despite increasing censorship is the bastion of free speech and information gathering/sharing. It goes further than tv ever has or ever could in terms of the 'everyday' person having a platform.
What david is offering is the icke headlines televised. I doubt for a second we shall be seeing 'cathars countdown one hour special' or 'thoroughbreds: what you need to know and how to tame them' though 'abducted: the ufochick story' could make an awesomely cheesy 'made for tv' style movie. The 'people' david wishes to give a voice to are unlikely to be the ones who are so active on his forum as he knows full well that would be like sticking a dart board to his face and handing out spears to anyone who is not white, straight and a little bit racist.
He also says that in one month he managed to raise world wide half a million dollars - a great achievement but if you compare it to the $5,702,153 raised in the same amount of time for a veronica fucking mars film or $1,192,793 raised towards and album, art and book tour by the awesome amanda palmer - or even the $770,309 pledged to fund the happiness and cyanide show - the peoples have spoken. More are willing to shell out for a movie, cartoon or album than to fund a 24 hour tv station for the people. Why is that? I don't subscribe to the view that people don't know about what goes on in the world as that is not my experience. Sadly my experience is that they just do not give a big enough shit until it is something that affects them directly.
Oh and apparently it is going to give a platform for poets and bands and artists to be seen. I can think of at least one 'band' who will no doubt benefit *cough* gareth *cough* Not so sure a band calling themselves hsbc rock who sing songs about the sustainability and fairness of the financial world would be so welcomed though. Apparently there is nothing like that in the msm. erm... myspace does/did just that (before murdoch obv) various tv music channels exist that showcase new talent and obnoxious and odious as I find it as does xfactor and the voice etc for musicians and bands. Not everyones cup of tea but the peoples voice will not be as unique as david is suggesting
He asserts there will be a queue of people wishing to give money to get their brand advertised via the tv station. If this really were true where are they when it comes to the forum? a forum that like it or not has significant traffic and a decent internet presence. The queue will be to the courts or to the ofcom complaints department.
sorry no funnies really just more face palm over the self aggrandizement and bullshit.
The saddest thing about all this for me is that it could be fecking awesome but my trust and respect for daisy and david has diminished so much that I cannot for the life of me see it living up to what are in principle some brilliant ideals.
It would be fantastic for example to give someone like wub a weekly spot on the financial crises or expand on what (i cant remember his name but he does a radio show and was a dif member) does. Or the app doing what he does best sharing skills. Instead I see a ghastly image of positive forward tinyint hadaka and gonzo in a cheesy 90's chatline advert homage asking if you want to speak to single conspiracy minded men and women in your area to call this premium rate number - and yes they are all in spandex and yes i need to bleach that image out of my head.
rant over.

Sounds like they maybe starting up da moneybomb train, hard to think this ain't just a scam, how else did they expect to run a real tv station? On thin fucking air?
They should have just started an internet radio show like everyone else, get some sponsorship when you get epic hits and away you go, they need to remember they don't have the market AJ does, fuck it all anyway it's all bolloxs, most people cant handle the truth, way to scary.
Sort of brings it all in to perspective, if you think about it how could you run an operation like this without some real backing?

That has to be the single most nauseating piece of crap I have ever had the misfortune to watch. I'm not going to dignify it by critiquing it and pulling your hollow words to shreds.
A long time ago I invited you to come meet some of my shroom buddies. That invite is rescinded. I wouldn't want to inflict your dark soul on their kind and loving nature. You aren't worthy of them.
Go piss up a rope, fuckstick.

Personally, I'm just not overly optimistic about the future:
It is claimed that person isn't a plant, I'm not so sure, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt.
Anyway, I really don't think you're going to get the general public truly grasping the nature of the society that they live in, the chances are very remote.
I don't have any sympathy with British people, or generally those in the 'developed' world at all, apart from the vulnerable, the people that are subjected to ATOS and workfare, and those who are poor or elderly or disabled through no fault of their own.
The opportunity is there for anyone to be informed today. Anyone who lives in ignorance today does so of their own volition.
However, the average person in the street doesn't give a fuck about anyone and anything other than his or herself. If you're being generous, you might say that they care about their families, although if you work for the CSA for a while, or take the easier option and watch the Jeremy Kyle Show, you might get a different perspective on that one.
That said, most people are not bad people, and wouldn’t hurt anyone deliberately, and certainly wouldn’t do anything that could be described as ‘evil’. Contrary to the way that the tabloid culture depicts people and society, most people are basically quite decent. We’re just increasingly conditioned to be passive, self-absorbed, trivia-obsessed, vain, obedient, puerile, possessing a low-attention span, obsessed with fads and trends and fashion, materially motivated; ie. the ideal consumer. And many people will never see beyond this.
I am quite fortunate because I lead a pretty easy and enjoyable life (a very easy life in world terms), and make okay money (probably in the top 1% of earners in world terms) without having to do anything too demeaning or for that matter demanding. If you want to know your position in the world, click here:
Despite all of the incredible injustice in Britain, most people can say at least something similar to that as well. At the very least, most people still have food and drink and shelter (although the number of people that don’t have access to these is increasing).
The people I feel sorry for are the 2 billion who live off $2 a day or less. The 1 billion, conservatively, who are starving, and the 1 billion who don’t have access to regular drinking water.
I’ve probably posted about this before, but I saw a programme on children’s BBC where they took some kids to a factory in Thailand. And they sat them down with some factory workers and showed them how to do their job. And their job was taking a piece of copper wire and wrapping it around an electronic component a few times. And then doing another one. And then doing another one. And the kids did this for about 30 minutes and they were piss bored. And they asked the supervisor how many coils the workers could do, and it was something absolutely ridiculous like 100 per minute. And then they went back to their home, and they just live in unbelievable squalor and poverty.
And they’re the lucky ones. At least they’re not eating out of the bins. At least they’re not scavenging for food to survive. And you look at a person in that society, and they’re doing demeaning work, I would assume in most cases for corporations...how can they ever exercise any autonomy over their own existence? Don’t like wrapping a coil around a component all day long for a bag of rice? Don’t worry, we’ve got 100 people ready to take your place and work for even less. You can be outside sifting through the bins if you prefer.
This is the life choice that billions of people face. Getting close to half of the world’s population. And as these are all official figures, they’re probably optimistic. They’re probably downplaying the scale of the problem.
But, you know, all people care about in our society is whether or not they can get the new iPhone. Or what the football score is. Or hasn’t the fucking X-Factor started up again recently? That’s the bottom line, people ultimately don’t care about the consequences enough to even understand them, let alone do anything about them. They do genuinely care more about getting the new iPhone than whether thousands upon millions of people are dying elsewhere. And they won’t care until they can’t afford the new iPhone any more, at which point they’ll be given a false explanation for why this is occurring to them, and possibly a scapegoat, if they can be bothered to even watch the news in the first place.
We must shift America from a needs- to a desires-culture. People must be trained to desire, to want new things, even before the old have been entirely consumed. Man's desires must overshadow his needs.
That is just the reality of the situation, and I cannot see it changing.
The true measure of a man is not his intelligence or how high he rises in this freak establishment. The true measure of a man is this: how quickly he can respond to the needs of others and how much of himself he can give - Philip K. Dick.
Like an idiot I've just scanned through this morning's and yesterday's headlines on the DI site.
Now let me just say that I abhor the hideous treatment of the Palestinian people by the State of Israel.
But...
Can anyone explain to me why in a World where so much shit is going down and so much is being done by individuals and groups to counter the rise of Globocorp, the DI headlines focus so much on negative stories about Israel? I estimate they make up at least 50% of the headlines. Doesn't that seem rather disproportionate?

David Icke appeared on the Fern Britton show in 1991, slightly after having done his infamous Wogan show appearance. DI is asked a question from the audience ...
"Audience member: Umm, you keep saying you're not trying to convince anyone around to your way of thinking, ...
David Icke: Yeah.
Audience member: ... but you keep telling us your way of thinking is the only way to save the earth, to think more positively, to have no negative ...
David Icke: But you have every right my friend to think to think something else, that's the point I'm making.
Audience member: But don't you want to save the earth, don't, don't you want to try and do this, or are you just trying to make money, are you just trying to ...
David Icke: Lets, lets answer those two questions at once. First of all, ah, I have travelled around the world to many places on the earths energy system bringing in through, ah, positive means, various energies of very powerful and vast amounts ...
Audience member: So you can do it on your own then ?
David Icke: ... that costs money !"
Same old tune eh ... "Work hard to make enough money to give to me so that I don't have to work at all" ... 20+ years of the same sales pitch ... no surprises
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.
