WUB can you understand why the average person would not take a debt of that magnitude serious?
Not really.

^Another example of why people don't take the debt serious and think it's all scam....
I would love to know the relevance of this!
I'm not really bothered if people "take it seriously", or not. It's a fact.

Do you think 'scam', in this instance, means 'practical joke', RA?
Nah, it's not a joke Gilly because what's happening is real.
Anglo Irish Bank alone cost the irish taxpayers 5 times what the US gov just threw away there.
And theres only 4 million ppl to pay for it, quarter of them unemployed, prolly another quarter either too young or too old to be in employment and theres recordings to prove it was all deliberate and planned.

So, rest assured folks, there is not ever gonna be an economic collapse. They got you right where they want you. The economic collapse is a fear tactic, since the countries with the most debt are also ironically the wealthiest. Debt is a means to an end, this end is government expansion (to solve the so-called "debt problem") and public enslavement through this expanded government.
This is because we are living in a reverse world where debt=wealth. So your fear of debt is entirely misplaced, a controlled illusion, since debt here does not = poverty, but = wealth.
Interesting post from DIF....
When you think about it starving children in the 3rd world wish their family was 40k in debt...
The world is now over $1 trillion further in debt than when this thread began in April. $1,022,541,391,385 to be precise.
The amount that it has increased in this four month period is greater than the Gross Domestic Products of 178 nations, and less than the GDP of only fifteen.
I will update this thread periodically.

The world is now $1,554,443,723,104 (one-trillion, five-hundred and fifty-four billion, four-hundred and forty-three million, seven-hundred and twenty-three thousand, one-hundred and four) further in debt than it was when I began this thread six months ago. This increase is greater than the GDP of all but the world's eleven largest economies.

Have you EVER seen anything more stupifyingly shocking?
Since the US, in particular, came off the Gold Standard (thanks Trickie Dickie Nixon) the amount of debt, globally, has exploded. You wonder why
a) House prices are so high
b) As are the costs of living
c) Why oil costs so much
d) Why food costs so much
e) Why a car costs so much
f) Why transportation costs so much (… Have you ever bought a commuter ticket into London and said to the ticket seller “How Much?!!! I’ll bet a lot of that goes on your pension?” No, I haven’t either. Yet!)
g) Why governments, households and businesses have soooo much debt?
Now you know. Because the whole planet is in an ocean of debt. Of course, the ultra rich are not, as are the ultra prudent. Who do you think will win in the end?
Those in debt?
Well, as you see in the chart, the meagre small fall in global debt in 2008 did what it did to the global economy.
The sheer scale of debt is the problem as I continue to report.
What happens when borrowing rates rise, if they do?
There will be another crash. It will be much much bigger than 2008. That was merely the hors d’oeuvre. The next one will be the main course.
They ‘saved the world’. HOW DARE THEY (Clown, Obama, Merkel and the rest of the Fascist Marxists?!!! (You think there’s a practical difference to you and me?) How dare they say that? What they did was put us more and more in hock to banksters.
Did I say How Dare They?!!! (Is Graham Chapman reading this? Ah. Oh, right.)
The big picture is entirely unchanged and I guess I cannot repeat that enough.
The Too Big To Fail banks are even bigger and an even greater threat to global economic stability.
China has gone past its Day of Reckoning and, as far as we can see, is riding on Hot Air.
At some point the Federal Reserve will lose control of interest rates OR we are ‘Japan’ and rates are to tumble even further and the Depression will not be hidden any longer
Etc
Hence, we are in Depression already. It started with the great unravelling of 2007/08. It has a long long way to go.
In 1931 they did not know, then, they were in Depression. They soon did know.
Those who do not wish to see the big picture will be sorry and they are by far the majority.

The bankers loaned to the Governments and to the house and business buyers for decades. Then when there were problems of repayment the bankers advised the Governments to borrow vastly more. And the Governments took the advice.
Go figure.

The world is now $1,932,550,777,567 further in debt that it was when this thread began just over 8 months ago. That's one-trillion, nine-hundred and thirty-two billion, five-hundred and fifty-million, seven-hundred and seventy-seven thousand, five-hundred and sixty-seven.
This is more than the GDP of all but the nine largest economies in the world:
In more important news, Nigella Lawson's PA spent too much on a credit card, and some wealthy people might have tried cocaine a couple of times.

The world is now $150,065,108,067 further in debt than it was 20 days ago. Based on this measure alone; the figure is far higher if you include all the other forms of debt.
Which banks?
Also banks are institutions.
Who runs these institutions?
Whom specifically is the world in debt to?
I did a big post on this at some point, but I can't find it! It is discussed here starting at 1:16:23:
There is a famous quote from Quigley: "The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert by secret agreements arrived at in frequent private meetings and conferences." The system that he talks about in his book 'Tragedy and Hope' that was envisaged at the very least many decades ago (possibly centuries ago) is now in place.
"The apex of the system was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations.
Each central bank, in the hands of men like Montagu Norman of the Bank of England, Benjamin Strong of the New York Federal Reserve Bank, Charles Rist of the Bank of France, and Hjalmar Schacht of the Reichsbank, sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."
It's probably only really a handful of people whom this money is ultimately owed to, although it's very hard now to finger exactly who these people are. This is discussed further in the video.
