Money is crappy, because no matter how much you have, it never seems to be enough
I hate the fact that living in the UK means that shelter, food and water isn't enough. Especially when youre a parent. For example, I have to buy school shoes, rugby shoes and normal PE trainers for my son this month. Then there's all the other bits and bobs. We need a car and that eats money too. Cars and children are expensive

I completely agree, Lesley. I've just finished saving for months to give my child a nice birthday (no party, but a kindle and some money to spend); then its back to the penny-pinching so that she can go for a holiday with her aunt who lives in Jersey, channel Islands - I "just" need to raise her spending money because her fare gets paid and, of course, she stays at her aunt's for free. I can't afford to go.... but as long as she has a nice time, it's good.
then it will be back to school, then it will be Christmas, then it will be....
And peppered by more "what's fekkin next" with this damned Fiat I own - except I don't own it. I have two more years of payments to make on it before I own the dumpster. I might actually dump it and just keep paying off the monthly payments - because paying for a car I no longer have would stilol be cheaper than running and repairing the busterd.
For two years I've been trying to save for a holiday for just my daughter and me to go on together and I've never got near the money I need yet!

What am I after? Four months in Barbados? No! A week or so in WEYMOUTH in a caravan!!!! (Actually, I've just found a way to do this! It involved buying The Sun newspaper for 10 days

and cutting out the coupons; which now let me book an out of season caravan/chalet in Weymouth for out of season dates.

).
@Rick: you're right, too. My parents had four little girls and my dad's job covered the expenses of that. When my mother started to work, it was because she wanted to, not had to and she could walk from one job to the next because a) she was good and b) the jobs were there.
Having abilities and talents seems to be worth nothing nowadays. Money is all; if you haven't got it... well, go lie in the gutter until you die (literally).
While I hate to be judgemental, sometimes I have to come in contact with some of the brainless twerps who have more money than could be accurately counted ... and they have nothing of intelligence, strength, ability, talent, beauty. I stand there astonished and think "How the fek have they got all this and I have not a bean?".
I hate lack of money and financial stress because it DISABLES me as surely as if it had cut off my legs and arms.
