new cat is arriving tonight

Problem is I don't like it's name ......it's called Lucky.

Do you think I could change it or would that be cruel?

I have a wonderful were-cat called Midnight - and we call her Midnight; or Midi; or Middi-Widdi; or Woodi-Boodi; or Killer; or Fangs; or Beauty-Wooty-Wooty-Wooty-Boo-Boo-Boo-Boo-Boo, etc., ad infinitum....

Frankly, we can call her what we like and she comes running as long as there's food involved or she's in the mood for company. :D

G'day Dawnbreak.

I grew up with a cat (she made it to 19.5 years old) that my parents had named 'Pussy'. My mum asked my sister and I why some kids walking home from school laughed at her when they heard her calling out the cats name ... 'Here pussy, pussy'. My sister and I declined to explain it to her. :D

Oh, we got another cat too. It was named 'Kitty'. :roll: Obviously my parents had difficulty coming up with cat names.

You could call it, 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious'. Then you could always shorten it to various different names, 'Super', 'Frag', 'Docious', etc, etc. ;)

I never call our cat by her name. She's called Holly but I never call her that...I call her all kinds of different names. Some names are just noises... :D

Thomas, Tammy, Puss and She. :beat: ....plus many other kittens until we found them a good home.

I could cry thinking about them all now.

The mother of all our cats was She...She was wild, we took her in. The only time she was friendly was when she was pregnant...she was a bit of a flozzie....she was preggers a lot.

Thomas would let me dress him up in dolls clothes and push him around in a pram....bless....He also used to come to the shops with me and wait outside until I was finished. :beat:
