They're public defenders, yeah?

The interweb tells me that they are public defenders - a bit like the woman that was living with Capt Furilo in Hill Street Blues. :)

So not the bad kind of lawyer? Or are they all nasty?

My experience with the legal system hasn't extended beyond magistrate level so I've not had any dealings with them.

I remember my friend used to buy a pack of eight jam doughnuts and sit on my sofa and eat them while we watched football and played Playstation, and that would be his evening meal.

Did he become a cop?

I've just been reminded of a class quote from a teacher trying to control our unruly class;
every time I open my mouth some fool speaks

then he topped it off with

I might be saying 'get out, there's a fire'.

What do you make of this?

God's Chorus of Crickets

soundcloud.com/acornavi/robert-wilson-crickets-audio

SB, your expert opinion would be appreciated.

I saw it on another forum, and someone said it was BS cos it was nicked from here...

,,,and someone else said that that didn't make it BS, because it was the genuine slowed down cricket recording that was used in that piece of music anyway.

It sounds like it could have been lifted from part of that because they do sound very similar.
It's also possible they both had the same idea of slowing the sound of crickets down and layering them together. It's a fairly common sampling technique that I use a lot when slowing stuff down. It produces lots of interesting results, whereas speeding stuff up just makes it sound goofy like a tape playing too fast.

Totally sickened after watching this...

Disgusting routine and sadistic animal abuse at a Tyson factory farm
Shocking undercover investigation by Mercy For Animals exposes routine and sadistic animal abuse at a Tyson factory farm that supplies pork to Walmart. Workers kick, punch, throw and gouge the eyes of mother pigs and piglets

INVESTIGATIONS AT WALMART PORK SUPPLIERS REVEAL:
Pregnant pigs confined to filthy, metal gestation crates so small they are unable to even turn around or lie down comfortably Workers slamming conscious piglets headfirst into the ground and leaving them to suffer and slowly die Workers ripping out the testicles and slicing off the tails of piglets without the use of any painkillers Sick and injured pigs with severe, bleeding wounds or infections left to suffer without veterinary care

So much so that I'm not even posting the clip here. It's horrific and heart breaking.

I will never give Asda my custom again.

I'll finally get round to investing in one of those grannie's shopper on wheels, so that I can go round the market for my shopping, and do some investigating of the condition meat animals are raised in before buying any.

I'm not going to watch the clip, Gilly, because I've seen this stuff before and I know what goes on, but Tyson 'farms' have previously appeared in Food Inc:

There were clips in that film of workers kicking the crap out of pigs, etc, at the other big pork producer Smithfield, I'm sure that's on Youtube somewhere.

There is an article about the woman in that clip here:

Cheers, Wub. Just in the middle of researching ethical suppliers round here.

I intend cross-examining them, and visiting premises.

Those people make me sick to the stomach.

***I'M IN TWO MINDS ABOUT US***

Darker than a coalmine more dead ends than a maze
That's what I see when I stare into your gaze

You were always smiley now you always frown
[sarcasm]But you didn't let the bastards grind you down [/sarcasm]

With your Oedipus complexion and silky Freudian slip
Is it any wonder I think your fit?!

With your confrontational ways and rebellious charm
You were bound to appeal to one who means no harm

You're the kind of soul that parents don't want their kids to date
I was looking for love, you were overflowing with hate

I could have been someone but you held me back
You're idea of defense is attack, attack, attack!

When we are together and our lives entwined
We should be enlightened but we're the blind leading the blind.

I'm soft, you're hard, I'm warm, you're cold
You've got fire in your belly, I've got a calm lake in my soul.

You could make me boil and I could extinguish you
But the law of nature will always win through.

You could destroy all that is evil in this world
But you you'd still have your own demons to be killed

I wouldn't say Charles Veitch is pretentious, but he just gave a talk entitled:
